New Member/Long-Time Visitor
Hello, everyone!
I finally decided to take the plunge and create an account here after visiting for the last couple years. I'm a uni student from California currently studying in Italy and absolutely loving it! My username is ReservedEnthusiast because I am a speedo/swim brief enthusiast, but I am a little shy about it because I'm not exactly fit. :/ I am straight, but I honestly find a guy in a speedo attractive because I desire to be as fit/look as good. I'm a work in progress on that note; I love being healthy as much as the next guy, but alas, gelato........ I have a number of speedo encounters to share, but I'll save them for other days. Long story short: first tried one on in high school, first bought one freshman year of uni, first wore one openly last summer. I've got to get ready for class now, but I just thought I'd say "hi"! |

Welcome to the board. No need to put off wearing what you want until you "qualify." Better habit to get into: Enjoy who and where you are today, gelato notwithstanding. Cheers!

Italy
...should be a good place for confidence building since speedos are more common than in the US.

True! I haven't had much opportunity yet though. And thank you all for your encouragement to just go for it! I am a design student, though. I have an appreciation for aesthetic and recognize when it's not quite there yet lol. But, I'm getting much closer! I have started swimming laps in them, but I'm not at a point where I'd relax in them at the beach or with friends. You'd be surprised how easy it is to lose weight in Italy. You just eat and eat, but you walk everywhere and all the food is super-fresh and not processed or anything, so you essentially diet without even trying! I started the year around a size 44 waist (partially thanks to being overweight, partially thanks to having a wide stocky build because of my mostly Eastern European descent) and now all my jeans are super loose on me. I'm probably more like a 38 or 40 waist, but the thighs need more room so I'd end up buying size 40 or 42 for the legroom. Actually, I'm still upset about how loose some of them are. I spent $90 on nice new American Eagle jeans before I left, and one pair is now so baggy on me that I haven't touched them for fear of someone thinking I'm wearing a tarpaulin for pants! I only got to wear them for a month before they were noticeably huge on me! UGH I have to get them tailored, if possible. But, I guess clothes getting too big on you is a pretty good problem to have, isn't it? Long story short, if you need a new diet plan to try: move to Italy. |

Geese what a tough problem to have, wish it was mine. Congratulation on you slimming down. I have yet to find the correct mix that will work for me, but still looking.
