Spandex is a generic term referring to stretch fabrics (2 or 4 way) in which Elastane is used as the stretch agent.
Lycra is Dupont's registered product and is a 4 way stretch spandex.

4 way stretch Spandex is superior to 2 way stretch Spandex so Lycra is superior to 2 way stretch Spandex but may or may not be superior to other manufacturers 4 way stretch Spandexes.

This question is like asking if a Hoover is better than a vacuum cleaner. Do you have Hoovers in the USA ?

Mate 😄 I’m simply asking from prior experiences, which material last the longest?
Cheers!

It depends.
The endurance fabrics are made from different materials, last longer but have less stretch.

As mentioned, Lycra is a brand name of spandex. Both Lycra and spandex can come in different thicknesses and ratios of nylon and spandex, thus affecting the life of the fabric. So I'm afraid there's no easy answer. It's like asking which car lasts longer.

To further complicate matters, thicker doesn't necessarily mean 'lasts longer'.

Sorry
