When I was stationed in Naples Italy with the Navy for a few years, I always wore boxer shorts style swimwear. There was a family, I met living there and had a nice home on the Island of Capri with a large swimming pool. My first few times on the island, I wore my baggy white shorts, until one of the young Italian males gave me a nice fitting men's bikini swimsuit, as thats what most Italian men, regardless of age would wear swimming or as underwear too. I did wear one and really felt nice. I've worn that style or Speedo style swim briefs for many years since, when swimming or as summer underwear.
