My First Speedo

Hi, I'm Chad. I'm 16 and live on the west coast. I thought I'd introduce myself by telling you how I got my first speedo.

My mom, older sister, and I went on a houseboat trip at the beginning of the summer. Before our trip, my mom picked up a new swimsuit for me. The box seemed a bit small and I couldn't help but laugh when I pulled out the speedo. I asked my mom what she was thinking. She told me I'd be more comfortable on the houseboat wearing something fitted instead of shorts, since we'd be in and out of the water a lot. I told her there was no way I'd wear it, but she just said to bring it along and if I really didn't want to wear it, she'd return it.

I wore my shorts the first day. My mom was right, by the end of the day the shorts were feeling really gross. I didn't say anything, of course. I hung the shorts to dry, and went to sleep.

When I got up the next morning, I got up to put on the shorts. They were still damp. I remembered the speedo and decided to see what it looked like. It seemed way too tight and small, but I wasn't going to wear the shorts again. I'd actually started to get a rash from the previous day. I figured, what the hell. My mom and sister were both wearing brazilian bikinis that left their cheecks hanging out. I could pull of the speedo. I went into the kitchen area. My mom did an I told you so.

We spent the day lounging and swimming. The speedo felt way better in the water than shorts. I was kinda nervous walking around on the deck and first, but by the end of the day I didn't mind.

The last day of the trip, my mom suggested we skinny dip. My sister and I both said no way. We'd made breakfast, so my mom did the dishes while we went for a swim. She came out onto the deck a bit later. I thought she was going to jump in, but she undressed and stood there for a moment completely naked. Then, she jumped in the lake. We swam around for a while. My mom got out first and went inside. She was dressed when my sister and I came back onto the boat.

We brought the boat back to the docks. When I got home, I figured I'd switch back to shorts. Instead, I've been wearing the speedo exclusively since.

Has your swimming improved by wearing speedos instead of shorts and do you have greater self confidence in no longer having to hide yourself in bulky shorts ?

When I was walking along the Atlantic coast of France I found my shorts were rubbing between my legs and making my skin raw. Changing to speedos on the 2nd day stopped the abrasion and was more comfortable.
