Texas GOP platform
The Texas GOP has endorsed as part of its platform reparative therapy for homosexuality. This has been outlawed in states such as New Jersey and California and has been discredited by both the American Psychiatric Association and the American Psychological Association. Back in the 80's homosexuality was removed by the APA from its diagnostic manual as a mental disorder. I guess the Texas GOP still Thinks it knows better than the experts.

on the other hand...
If anyone is going to know mental disorders, I can't imagine a more qualified by experience source than the Texas GOP.... just a thought.

"reparative therapy"
The brilliant Alan Turing (Enigma Code and his computer to break it) suffered some of this postwar "treatment" and decided his life was not worth living. A great loss of a VALUABLE brain but some bigoted idiots still exist who have not brought THEIR brains into the 20th century - let alone the 21st.
(btw, what's their view on the NRA?) |

Texas GOP
The Texas GOP is a brand of crazy all by itself. They only hear what they want to hear and led by Ted Cruz.

I agree with you shaulis completely. Maybe Texas should have remained an independent country way back and not have entered the Union. Yes, we can only dream.

Yesterday I read where Gov Perry equated homosexuality to alcoholism. Texas GOP gives Republicans another blackeye.

I wonder...
Was he saying it because he just can't get enough of it, or because after a 12 step program we just become straight???

Probably the 12 steps and we become straight. I am Republican but when I hear what Perry, Cruz and others like them I get ashamed of the GOP. I cant be a Democrat. I dont want the government to think for me anymore than it has.
