JAKED brand swim briefs
Anyone ever buy or try JAKED swimwear?
Where is it made? They seem to fit well on this diver. |

another mystery
No - never heard of Jaked but saw reference in a press report
to an Italian manufacturer and then tracked them down to Gallarate, province of Varese, in the Lombardy region, of the far north of Italy. Here is a link (if you can work your way around a very disfunctional website): http://www.jaked.it/resorse/file/competition%20new.pdg The brand seems to be listed many times with UK swimwear suppliers but looks as if their main product is jammers. They had previously produced a red bodysuit in 100% polyurethane (now banned in competition) and a very short vid. of a German guy in one is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRo0uZP-WYM As for the pic of the "diver" it is in monochrome but the suit could well be carrying the tricolore of Italy. Cannot agree it being a good fit however - certainly not comparable to Tom Daley in a Team GB blue Speedo. |

follow up....
Ignore jaked.it link above - it does not work and seems to have been withdrawn.
Instead see whether this works: http://jaked.corecommerce.com/featured.html This is the USA Jaked distributor in Florida. If it opens get to menu "categories" and select Italian Collection. In there look at Brief Italia - that may be the suit in your monochrome pic. |

If I recall correctly, Jaked suits were made by an Italian company, though I'm not sure they were made in Italy or were imported. Their company shot to fame around 2008-2009 when they developed those full-body polyurethane tech suits Byron mentioned that helped break so many world records at the 2009 World Swim Championships in Rome (something like 43 world records were set, which was unheard of in previous meets). Then swimming officials wisely decided to ban those suits since they aided a swimmer's flotation - something that had been banned for many years. Since then, I think Jaked has had a tougher time in the market.

Wow Byron, you are sure a genius when it comes to recognizing suits and then where to find them online. Thank you again! You found the ArrestMe and now the Jaked After looking at it on the Jaked website, don't know if I would buy it |

Any idea who this diver is? I would guess from an Italian team since the Italian flag is on the speedo?

Jaked
LOL - thought you might say that - not a choice for you on this occasion I think.
I am not familiar with names in the Italian national diving team but you are right as Jaked have been/are suppliers of suits and I have often seen Team Italy divers /swimmers in blue but not brands Speedo, Adidas, etc. Swimmboy summarises the situation above - the company was indeed formed in 2008 and Gallarate has a history of textile manufacture (somewhat ironic - official objections to the exceptional record-breakers were based partly on the rule that material worn by competitors must be a textile). |

since you ask......
I doubt it (and doubt even more a reply with the adjective crazy )
It seems to me you have found Tommaso Rinaldi who was at the 2012 London Olympics and diving for Italy on the springboard (and whose father Domenico is a past Olympian diver too). Has been an Italy junior diving champion several times. http://www.corbisimages.com/images/C...1-fa5423c83174 Born Rome January 18 1991 - lives Trieste Height 1.81m and Weight 78kg (sorry - I don't have his shoe size) |

I have seen him on several images. Very beautiful man. Now he makes Jaked look great on him! lol
I went to Italy for a week in 2008, ended up staying 4 months. Met a guy on my last day there and moved in with him. Left after 4 months. If that says anything about Italian lovers. We went to the beach in Grosetto where his family was from. Wow, the Italian men in speedos were amazing! |
