Default Has anyone ever commented on your swimwear?

What I mean by that has anyone ever made derogatory comments or gave you funny looks while you are wearing briefs? I've noticed that for American guys that seems to be their biggest fear. And of course if nobody does appear to notice they'll obviously be thinking that (wish I could mind read).

I can honestly say that in 23 years of swimming in briefs in England and on holiday all over the world this has never happened to me.

Actually, the nearest to that happening was at a local pool last year. There was a group of 3 boys and one of them said 'Speedo' to me.
I was tempted to say back to him 'well done for reading my label!'.

Default comments....

I can only say me too on your second para. (though Tom Daley moved secondary school in Plymouth because of constant 'speedoboy' taunts).

Talking about school, we had swimming up to the age of 13 (which would have been 1977) and all the lads wore briefs. I think if anyone wore long shorts back then he would have been the subject of ridicule.

But, as I say, today's lads are repressed. They just don't realise it.

Watching BBC News 24 the other night I heard that there are moves afoot in Japan to make images of boys in tiny swimsuits become pornographic. The claim is that many of these photographs are in erotic poses and should be banned although the Japanese public have not complained up until now. Once images of boys in brief low cut bikinis is considered indecent and pornographic it will be more difficult for Japanese boys and men to wear them in public just because they like them.

It happened that way in Britain some years ago, naked images of children became pornographic, images of boys in speedos and short shorts became erotic and then pornographic and banned. Then boys stopped wearing speedos and short shorts. In they name of child protection they moved the goal posts and tried to make the everyday indecent.

Adverse comments have never been an issue for me except once in, of all places, Australia. I have worn brief cut swimsuits since I was a kid. If a swimsuit is the attire, I will be in a brief cut suit mostly, unless I am wearing a Funky Trunks square cut. When I am at the beach I even run on the beach in just my swimsuit. Around home (on a lake) I even do yard work and such wearing my swimsuits. I have had several folks compliment my swimwear, both ladies and men.

Not exactly an attack on swimwear....

I agree with this law. Photos of children intended to be used for erotic purposes is just wrong.

Default Comments on swimsuit and Japan

I have never gotten any negative comments on my swimsuits. I've gotten a couple of extra looks which seemed to me to be positive looks.

As far as showing children of both sexes in swimwear that may be considered to be pornography, I believe anything that can be construed as pornography by using images of children is exploitative and absolutely unacceptable.

I was at a Waterpark in Spearfish, South Dakota 3 years ago. a girl about 8 years old started telling men shouldn't wear speedos, I responded "What about Michael Phelps? He wears speedos." she replied "Well that's different.". to which I replied "how is that different?" to which she just walked off...
