They have laws like that? No such laws in Britain. It's just shyness that stops people wearing them.

Lol, In the US there are all kinds of laws pertaining to nudity or even partial nudity. It’s freaking ridiculous really. Too many people worried about their kids seeing somebody’s butt. I think it has more to do with fat people afraid their spouse or significant other might see something they like better. People over here need to learn to be more acceptable or stay the hell in their own little bubble.

Its definitely a source of anxiety since the laws are often (invariably) obtusely worded and selectively enforced. Even within the same city it can vary. For example, nudity requires a permit within San Francisco but some of the parks are administered by the park service and thus activity there is not subject to local ordinance. This is why i asked about how to check with local laws since it is always a tricky bit of research to find exactly what laws apply where you are going.

Thank you to the Park Service for allowing natural enjoyment of natural places!

I assume by speedo friendly you mean a beach where there are other guys wearing speedos. I've worn my speedo at a few beaches in MA that aren't your typical gay beaches and have never had a problem. I usually don't see other guys wearing them, but there always has to be the first guy to drop their shorts and that would probably be me. Besides, if everyone wore a speedo, I don't think it would be as much fun to wear one.

I guess your confidence in wearing them is what you need to be most concerned with. People honestly don’t care that much from all my years of going to the beach. Just own it.

Wink Speedo friendly?

There are some public beaches that don't encourage men to wear a thong on the beach. I just like wearing extra snug, well fitting Speedo swim briefs and if I wore a thong, it would be in private and under cover of outer clothes or shorts. I do like the feel and comfort being in Speedo style swim briefs and rather be wearing them, rather than a men's skimpy thong on a public beach.

Since my swimsuit collection is only briefs and a few squarecuts, every beach or lake is a “speedo friendly” beach. Honestly, I am many times the only guy in a brief cut suit. I am fine with that.

Default Lap swimming

I swim laps at my gym and when I travel and always wear a Speedo style swim brief. Absolutely acceptable everywhere. While some men swimming laps wear jammers or trunks, few do. I don’t know about beaches but when I boat at a lake house I wear trunks. It is just a matter of attire choice in different situations. If you like briefs, swim laps!
