Are you kidding? If someone is uncomfortable seeing a man in a conventional speedo they should not go near a poor or beach. You are not "ramming it down their throat", you are just another person out for a swim. The only time you should concern yourself about what others may think is if you choose to wear a white speedo (or any other style swimsuit) to a family beach.
Does that philosophy govern all that you wear? I personally do not like purple -- would you avoid a particular color or style shirt because you may make another person in the crowd uncomfortable?
As with anything in life -- if you don't like what you see -- Don't Look!!

I was at a spa in Portland a couple of years ago. The attendant gave me a tour of the place when I arrived. It was early, so no one else was there yet. She explained that it was a co-ed clothing optional facility, and that it was necessary to wear a swim suit or sit on a towel when using the sauna.

I decided to go nude, put my clothes away in the locker, and went out to the hot tub. I'd been soaking for a while when I heard voices. Three women all wearing swim suits joined me in the tub. One was wearing a fashion one piece and the other two were wearing conservative bikinis. They said hello and carried on quietly with their conversation.

I thought I might have misunderstood the rules the attendant had explained, that perhaps I was supposed to be wearing a swim suit. I wanted to use the rest of the facility, but was nervous about getting out of the tub. Another woman walked out wearing a robe. I almost sighed with relief when she took it off revealing that she was nude underneath. She joined us in the hot tub.

Confident that it was allowed, I climbed out of the tub and went over to the shower. I could see the clothed women taking quick glances at me. When I'd rinsed off, I went into the sauna. A few minutes later, the nude woman joined me. She made a joke about the other women wearing clothes and we both agreed that it was much more enjoyable nude.

A couple showed up later. The guy went nude and the girl went topless. It was a fun afternoon.

Try being a gogo dancer in a gay bar during wedding season; those bachelorette party gals are vicious!

that is so true -- they all seem to have had new sharp nails put on for the party and when stuffing money in the g-srting they can actually draw blood with those things

Well, I think, for me, the awkwardness would come from having to walk through their circle to get to the key. It is one thing to be at the pool with others in a Speedo, it is another to have to disturb them and walk through their conversation area while wearing one. It would draw attention to yourself. That attention drawing is what would make me feel awkward.

As far as I’m concerned I quite enjoy feeling a bit uncomfortable . I know that sounds weird but wearing something small or bright or small and bright is thrilling . I agree it’s no fun with no one around . And I guess we all have a level where we feel comfortable / uncomfortable . So good for you bede.

I posted that 3 years ago, but I've found as I get older I'm more and more comfortable with my body. That kind of situation doesn't bother me now.

So one day while kayaking and fishing. Its probably 90 degrees out. I usually wear a small thong to tan in while on the lake. With nothing but woods to my backside I thought what the hell. Took off the thong and laid face down on my kayak. It's mostly a flat boat. Well time passes and since its electric motors only I never heard another boat float up within 40 yards or so. Thought what am I going to do now. For sure they seen me. Because I can see them clearly. Its a man and a woman in a small fishing boat. They fish for about 10 minutes or so then to my surprise they strip down to there birthday suits and jump in. The whole time looking my way. They never swim over but I wouldn't of cared at that point. I stayed the course and kept tanning and they finally got in there boat and drove away. And I was cool with that. But my heart was racing for a bit.

Somehow where I am our sides are less, like the norm seems to be 1,5" seems normal to everyone at the pool but the sides do seem to thin out naturally after a few uses, I find it odd that there are such wide waist swim briefs out there to buy.....
