When I was in graduate school, I used a hand crank calculator and a rexograph machine (like a mimeograph) because there were no photocopy machines then.

Default life and technology

I don't recognise that brand although I well remember hand-cranking Gestetners
and going through the messy process of refilling the drum with ink.
Actually we have come full circle - the inventor in Twickenham has sold many
of his wind-up portable radios, to be reenergised in remote areas of the world where people are not able to stroll down to the local shop for new batteries.

Really brought back memories ~ and gives me ideas about what to do with the junk in my cellar.

Default Elvis

I still have Elvis Presley on a big old 8-track continuous loop tape cassette - but not the player (which went with the car when sold). Forgotten their name but it was a market battle between them and the little music cassettes at the time - and the music cassettes won.

What happened to the guy of a few days ago who wanted a special swimsuit to keep him dry because of an apparent chlorine allergy? Tw will remember as he was worried about him seeing a doctor because some conditions lead to skin cancer - but all posts disappeared from the forum it seems.
(a very strange request for advice - not sure he was the genuine article)

His thread disappeared yesterday at around 16-00hrs BST.
Was going to suggest the use of non chlorine pool sanitizers eg ozone that have less aggressive chlorine effect.
Also since neoprene lets in water a Lycra UV suit might be more appropriate, start with a rash guard shirt maybe.
