Usually the assistant will lead you into an exam room. Then she will tell you to take off the clothes or not, and wait for the doctor to come in a moment. Did it happen that way this time?

If I was being told to not need to drop the pant, I would take it off anyway. Wait for the doctor to come in. If he ask, I'll say I heard it by mistake
