Swim brief with protective cup?

I noticed this water polo suit by Agon for sale online and it has a protective cup. Talk about jewel protection. I'm wondering if the cup and suit were made to be worn together or if someone just added a cup to accompany the suit.

Looks like a great codpiece for a swim suit!
