An so we have established there is always an exception to the general rule. Even in the "Speedo friendly" places like Australia, guys in small, tight, dare I say skimpy, suits are the exception. I won't be flying my next plane in a speedo (or naked), although it would be fun. But, I am perfectly happy being the lone "Speedo" guy on the beach.

Default fly me...

LOL - these were C Class flying boats, so called because each in the fleet was given a name beginning with letter C. If this pilot always preferred to fly Cozzie or Cock it must have raised a few smiles on touchdown in Oz (and even better if the guy's name was Richard).

The original swimming in Rochester, Kent, England was off a raft in the River Medway, close to the factory where the flying boats were built. It was replaced by a nearby indoor pool and later by an outdoor pool beside the river. You could hear and possibly watch aircraft taking off on the river, while swimming in the outdoor pool.
No one swims near the bridge any more, although I have swam, in speedos further upstream above the first lock.
