Starting to become frustrated...
I've started to notice during the last few sessions at my local pool that I'm wearing easily the briefest suits (especially with the absence of girls in bikinis). I don't wear anything longer than 2"" suits, but I feel totally comfortable with that. Why must other guys insist on wearing knee-length shorts?
The weather was sunny today, and I saw lads walking around in shorts, of the same length as that at the pool, and I can't make sense of it. How can they feel comfortable wearing shorts in that environment, but not to wear something briefer than that in water? |

They conform, conformity is comfortable.

Well my guess would be that most male teens would rather fit in with their peers and not subject themselves to ridicule or accusation of how they are displaying or flaunting their sexual orientation as that of being other than popular with that crowd. They are not competitive swimmers so they don't need or even understand the need to wear anything less. They are playing it safe by wearing what fashion dictates. Can you blame them? For all you know, your noticing and reaction to what they are wearing is being noticed by them and being commented about amongst themselves and they are laughingly giving you a label. Now I wonder what might tempt anyone to make any assumptions based upon how skimpy a man's swimsuit is. I just haven't a clue but maybe there are some forums somewhere that will shed some light.

confused
I have never been able to understand why we guys (yes, we are as guilty as the rest)get so worried about what another guy is wearing. If they like long board shorts, so be it. If we like brief cut suits, so be it. Why must the boardies guys have to conform to our likes any more than we want to conform to theirs? And yes, the whole Skimpy suit equals gay is stupid.... when I was on swim teams all through school and university there was not a mass gay population on the teams, but we did wear race cut suits.
I was at a pool party this week (vacation), and I wore a sweet little Nike print with 2 inch sides and a seam up the middle of the butt. I was the only male in such a suit... the rest in boardies or such. No big issue. Even walked to the pool and back from my Villa in my swimsuit. |

I rather doubt it (the phenomenon discussed here many times)
