This was on Yahoo this evening:

Most of the comments are in favor of speedos instead of boardies.

Default Good....

.......the more publicity the better.
In the thumbnails there is also a guy called Alexander Ludwig. Never heard of him but what a shame he's in shorts - put him in a speedo and he would look as good as Ryan Lochte.

I hope Mr. O'Connell's show is well written and is watchable if the show doesn't have these it will be gone fast. I must say most of the comments were positive. This could be a as Hollywood goes so does America moment.

Default the comments

I tried to read all on Jerry O'Connell but fell asleep.
Good to see possibly a little light at the end of the tunnel however - but despite the mostly supportive posts Emily R says that speedos are out of fashion now
according to a recent Yahoo article (not seen that).
A lot of ill-informed rubbish appears as usual and one comment says the speedo as pictured is a bikini and another that the actor is ripped. He certainly isn't
but I believe he was a fat guy for many years and the inevitable problem occurs when there is considerable weight-loss in later life but no longer the same skin elasticity of youth to regain shape.
For "bikini" to appear reflects of course the long unresolved mis-labelling by those not in the know on speedo matters (to see journalists reporting James Bond's swimwear as a bikini was equally ridiculous but it was there in print many times last year ). Boardshorts also became "trunks" with one commentator, so
some correct terminological agreement seems to be long overdue in this field.

It was quite amusing to see so many bitchy comments suggesting that there simply wasn't enough male endowment there to properly fill a speedo - and some considerable lack in education also, where nobody seemed able to spell penis.

Mikebos 1 might be of interest to Louis as he claims to always know who are the visiting Quebecois when out at his Old Orchard Beach Maine.

Jerry's problem is that he does not have a "speedo body". Which leads to his next, he doesn't know how to pick and wear the right brief swimsuit. In my opinion he, like about 95% of Americans, would look better in boardshorts and a t-shirt.
This is why speedos get the bad rap. Nobody wants to see that.

Maybe Jerry enjoys wearing Speedos, maybe when he moves through the water while swimming he finds it a sensuous sensation. Maybe it is really stupid to swim in board shorts while swimming because it is a drag that even causes some men to drown.
I did my life guard exam in a tee shirt and short shorts, swimming against the tide and towing a body was hard work. Coming out of the water all that soggy wet cotton was horrible. Why should 95% of American men have to needlessly tolerate clothing unsuitable for the pool, beach and sea just because someone considers they have the wrong body type to wear Speedos that is just silly.
We must tolerate each other's bodies and not tolerate bad dragging swimwear.

Play this video and see a guy who could sell refrigerators to eskimos (and just laugh if you feel faint on hearing the prices):

When discussing the speedos worn by Olympic divers why do these writers always use expressions like tiny or micro. It seems like a way of spotting lazy or useless fashion writers. A 2" or 3" side speedo is neither tiny nor micro, the bikini suits, string suits etc are considerably smaller than classic racing speedo designs.

Why would anyone want to swim in a pair of shorts with a fly front? Assuming you are naked under your shorts having a zip front is rather stupid and a bit dangerous. Having a thong with a front zip is a bit kinky and sexy, having a zip in the front of swimming shorts labels you as dumb, paying $250 for them as dumb and rich.
The outline of these tailored and expensive shorts is what we wore as PE shorts at school. The square cuts just looked like square cuts. Paying $250 for a pair of shorts or square cuts doesn't mean the cutters or machinists in Bangladesh (etc) got paid any more for making them, they may have been making Primark at the same pay rate in the next row. The excessive profits go to the brands and retail outlets.
