Default Introduction/help me ID my old Speedo please!

Hi all,
I arrived here by Google searching for a Speedo message board. I'm hoping someone can help identify what style suit I bought about 11-12 years ago, and pray to the Speedo deity of choice that it is still made. I got this suit at Sports Authority, Speedo brand, Logo on Left hip. It is dark blue, 3 inch seams on the sides, very lightweight, and has a thin panel that does NOT go all the way across the front. I can post pics in a few minutes if that will help.

I've bought a few other styles, but they don't feel the same. I've looked on their website, but I'm not seeing it or I'm overlooking it. I'm REALLY hoping that it hasn't been discontinued. Wearing this suit is as close to skinny dipping as I've ever been while still wearing something. It is also very comfortable for yard work or just lounging.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

About me:
Middle aged guy who only wears a Speedo on certain empty beaches, in his own back yard, or actually IN the lap lanes at the pool. I consider it a compromise with society- I keep my exposure to a minimum, and nobody gives me a hard time about wearing one.

Welcome - the answer in cases like this is usually to keep a regular check on Ebay.
However, let's have a pic to assist our expert readers in giving this suit a name to start with.

Thanks for the advice, I'll have to keep a closer watch on eBay then. Just out of curiosity I weighed this suit. It checked in at 2.2 ounces.

Here's a few pics of it:

Default Pics.

Had a look but very confused:

Where is Speedo logo on left hip?
Where is a partial panel across the front?
Side seams of 3" show as at least 4" or 5"

Sorry for the confusion.

The logo on the left hip wore off years ago, but I do remember it being there.

The front panel is on the inside.

I estimated the sides while not wearing it, I should have taken that into consideration. I put a dollar bill on the table next to it for size comparison.

Thanks for looking, I DO appreciate your help!

This is an American rather than a European style suit. Europen suits tend to have narrower sides.
As you use dollar coins I guess you are in the States.
It is a plain navy blue Speedo suit.
Can you tell us what it is made from and the % of Lycra used as this information is critical.
In Europe at any rate Speedo have changed over to black inserted front liners, replacing the old white ones, I guess they don't stain so easily.
Good luck in your search.

I wish I knew the answers to those questions, Torchwatch. The tag is long since gone. I just know that is is old, still retains some shape, and is the most comfortable thing I've ever worn. At the time I bought it I hadn't thought much about Speedos, I just knew they existed and admired the courage of those who wore them. I didn't know there were various styles and different materials. I would have paid much closer attention had I known.

Thanks for the effort though!

Is it possible this was a European or Australian Speedo model? I ask this because I believe EVERY Speedo I've bought here in the US over the past 20 years has had the Speedo logo on the wearer's RIGHT hip, while pix I've seen of Euro and Aussie suits often show it on the left hip.
