I received a parcel from Amazon the other day, Arena Santa Marias in navy blue, Wore them swimming today doing my usual 1500m, they were amazing hugging like a second skin, but for the tightness of the waist cord I almost felt naked. I think they are probably the best 2" racing briefs I've ever worn, they just seem to get everything right.
They seem thin and stretchy yet have been made to resist both chlorinated and sea water, lasting longer without the thickness and stiffness of an endurance suit. Maybe I should wear them some more to see how well they last. |

Nice photos and good to hear you are swimming the distance, lots of points to all, well done.
The Arena Santa Marias I bought arrived in an Amazon package and when I opened it I was disappointed in what I saw. The navy swim briefs had a hint of grey in their colour and the light blue Arena logo didn't stand out making them discreet rather than shouting for attention. Trying them on they fitted well with a slight pouch effect holding me nicely but they again felt discreet rather than amazing. At the pool when I started to tie the waist cord as I tightened the half reef knot I discovered there was already a half knot there and the strings locked. I tied the bows on top of this and got in the water. Slightly loose the rear of the suit started dragging down my ass displaying the white label inside and disappointing me. I stopped and untied the string underwater then tied a tight bow properly. When I started swimming again the Santa Marias suit just felt amazing, almost as if it were not there or a part of me giving me free movement and minimal drag. I'll try and get some photos when I go to the beach, this suit has to be seen wet. For now here's the photos from the Amazon listing: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 |

Not any more, well-made in Colombia with Italian fabric with "32- WMS 6" and "36- WMS 10" unisex sizing on the last two I bought, years ago at a closeout sale in the women's section as Sports Authority thought the tops were missing. No, it's cut for cute Colombian guys, and Italian-American guys like me. Italian spandex will last a very long time, already outlasted the store. |

Too bad the suit is no longer found. In surfing the web, I see several suits advertised as made from Italian material. Glad to know it holds up so well,,, no pun intended. Looks good on you.

Good news, I did a Google search for Nike Colombia and quickly located the suit in Nike Spain, now branded Hurley https://www.nike.com/es/t/hurley-qui...de-surf-Rhm1td
They have a wider waistband version in Navy Blue! https://www.nike.com/es/t/hurley-qui...N12/AJ9511-451 I then searched Amazon for "Hurley womens swimwear" and found it, they have several sizes and colors if you hunt around. Amazon has everything on Earth, if you know what to call it. https://www.amazon.com/Hurley-Womens.../dp/B07896K721 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077H69KXP/ and https://www.amazon.com/Hurley-Womens...dp/B078969DR5/ Women have wider hips, men can usually wear small or medium, use the hip size in the chart to order. The elastic trim bands add security from anything falling out, very comfortable and a great design for men to wear. Last edited by BikenSwim : 06-20-2018 at 04:41 PM. |

Following the string bikini thread I went to the beach after work on Thursday and sunbathed for a while in these:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sexy-Men-...53.m2749.l2649 Indoors they are navy and a bit plasticy but in direct sunlight they become irradescent reflecting reds and blues. Strangly for something made in China they are larger than you expect so downsize this product. After work yesterday I swam 2000m in my navy Arena Santa Marias, feely free yet supported in the water while knowing they looked good yet discrete poolside. Am wondering about a pair of Arena Santa Marias in a brighter colour, maybe lime green. |

Bad news, I ordered two Hurley suits from Amazon. They are now made in Cambodia, way too small and poor quality uneven construction. Even suits from China are better. I am sending them back. |
