Rare Speedo
Spotted by Louis on eBay (nwt and seller is in Hollywood CA - it had better be rare* as asking price is $445).
Ask Google Images for US eBay item 310735648348 and click for the page for more details if required. *certainly a very nice one I have never seen before and, instead of another Tom Daley diver suit, this time it is a Team GBR suit for Water Polo (date of issue would be interesting but not stated). LOL, yes - such a team does exist but please don't ask where it appears in any championship league tables. |

Neither of these 2 seem to be wearing that suit.

Good point
....that's why I was looking for a date of issue as it clearly wouldn't be 2012 for the Olympics.
Btw do you understand the mess of sponsorship in swimming ? I never understand the dividing line between the ASA and British Swimming (I assumed the latter put in the public cash but UKSport seems to do that through the Lottery Fund). As for Kellogg's , how cynical with all that processed food, far too high in sugar, going down kids' throats! |

for God's sake -- don't take the seller's word for anything. Research it a little and see if it really is a classic or a scam.
One guy on E-Bay is selling water polo suits for $185 assuming the buyer will think it is an actual country team suit and won't double check. In every case, the suits he sells can be purchased from Solar for $35. Another scam is the Mark Spitz suits. The original suit he wore was 100% nylon. Speedo cam back in the late 90's and early 00's with a nylon/lycra copy of the suit. Guys are trying to sell the blends as original 1972 Olympic suits. EBay is the best example of "Buyer Beware" you will ever run across. |

caveat emptor
A good warning - my enquiries so far have failed to reveal the provenance in this case (and I rather suspect I've seen that seller in action also around the period of last year's Olympics).
