Speedos in Vietnam
I stayed in a beach resort in Da Nang last week. At the initial meeting with the tour rep, she asked my wife if she had a bikini.
'No,' she replied. She asked me the same question. I said 'no', but remarked that my swimwear was rather small. 'Good,' she replied. 'Girls like men in very little.' She would have been disappointed, as all the men in the resort wore board shorts or square cuts. I was the only one in briefs. My favoured suit was a black Aussiebum 1.5" classic, which I wore to swim in the sea and the hotel pool. The brevity of the suit and the thinness of the material were just perfect for very warm water. |

In the Far East there was a tradition of wearing thong shaped loincloths as swim and underwear until the fall of Japan in World War 2. They have less taboo against showing the male bottom and so the wearing smaller swim briefs revealing parts of buttocks and ass crack is more acceptable that in the West.
