"Swimmer's Build"
Okay, so I have heard the description of a guy's body as that of a swimmer's build. But I have a few questions that I am expecting some of the members here can answer.
What IS a swimmer's build? What are the characteristics of such a build? Is a swimmer's build a build that a guy just has/is born with? If so are such guys more inclined to take up swimming? Or is a swimmer's build one that a swimmer acquires over time spent swimming? Can any guy, with enough swimming, obtain a swimmer's build? If so, can even me, a bigger guy, eventually obtain a swimmer's build? Thanks for indulging my queries. |

Swimmer's Build
Being a fitness swimmer myself and having had kids in competitive swimming, I hope I can help with your question. Swimming does shape the body and as kids grow up the muscles develop in tune with the sport they are doing. Typically, the swimmer has broad shoulders and a tapered waist to rounded buttocks and usually muscular thighs. As a kid, I developed bigger thighs and round butt compared to my non-swimming counterparts for obvious reasons. Depending on the training, a six-pack may be included in the "build", just because swimming is so damn energy burning, swimmers are usually thin with little body fat. Look at any competitive swimming video and you will see what I am talking about. Hope this helps.
