Almost an uncomfortable moment
I stayed at a hotel last weekend which had a spa and pool. I went for a swim in the pool wearing low rise briefs with 1.7 inch sides.. There was a slight problem in that the locker key had a safety pin, which presumably was to attach to your swimwear - but I didn't want to do that.
I arrived at the pool area, which was quiet - only a couple of people in the pool, and I placed the locker key on a window ledge, to pick up after my swim. The swim went well, but as I turned to do my final lap, several women wearing bath robes walked into the pool area, and then they stopped to chat to each other. Yes - they were standing right in the way of where my key was. Unfortunately I didn't have any spare time to wait around, so I plucked up the courage to leave the pool and walk right between them to get to my key. It felt slightly awkward at first, but when I then reached the shower area I actually felt quite good about it.... |

If you are wearing minimal sided briefs and have keys with built in safety pins you may be able to pin the key over the side of the suit, rather than through the fabric.

not sure why it was an awkward moment. You were getting out of the pool wearing a swim suit. It is not like it was a white that had gone transparent or a thong. The 1.5-2 " side suits seem to be quite the norm this year.
As far as the safety pin and the suit. You can always pin it to the draw string or the label inside so you don't have to pierce the fabric. |

Well - it was just that the women were fully covered and I was nearly naked. Can't imagine another context where that would happen.....

What's the thrill of wearing a speedo/bikini when nobody is there to see you?
Might as well be naked -- you wouldn't get arrested because there are no witnesses! |

Maybe they were the ones feeling akward since they were standing around at a pool in bathrobes. Besides I am sure they enjoyed the view.

I was at a spa in Portland a couple of years ago. The attendant gave me a tour of the place when I arrived. It was early, so no one else was there yet. She explained that it was a co-ed clothing optional facility, and that it was necessary to wear a swim suit or sit on a towel when using the sauna. I decided to go nude, put my clothes away in the locker, and went out to the hot tub. I'd been soaking for a while when I heard voices. Three women all wearing swim suits joined me in the tub. One was wearing a fashion one piece and the other two were wearing conservative bikinis. They said hello and carried on quietly with their conversation. I thought I might have misunderstood the rules the attendant had explained, that perhaps I was supposed to be wearing a swim suit. I wanted to use the rest of the facility, but was nervous about getting out of the tub. Another woman walked out wearing a robe. I almost sighed with relief when she took it off revealing that she was nude underneath. She joined us in the hot tub. Confident that it was allowed, I climbed out of the tub and went over to the shower. I could see the clothed women taking quick glances at me. When I'd rinsed off, I went into the sauna. A few minutes later, the nude woman joined me. She made a joke about the other women wearing clothes and we both agreed that it was much more enjoyable nude. A couple showed up later. The guy went nude and the girl went topless. It was a fun afternoon. |

that is so true -- they all seem to have had new sharp nails put on for the party and when stuffing money in the g-srting they can actually draw blood with those things
