Default Yes, college teams still wear brief Speedos!

http://www.swimmingworldmagazine.com...o-open-season/

The US college meet season has begun (though these early meets are more for fun and tune-ups, not serious head-to-head competition). But here is photographic evidence that teams still wear the brief suits for most of their in-season meets.

When college's have swim meets I hardly ever see briefs just jammers. Maybe those colleges only let the swimmers wear briefs at some meets not the big meets.

Glad that briefs are making a strong comeback.

But I hope they will eventually get rid of jammers for once and for all.

Yes - at the big meets such as conference championships and NCAA championships in Feb. and March, most swimmers wear jammers. But that is only two meets per year - at the meets in Sept., Oct., Nov., Dec., and Jan., i.e., the vast majority of college meets - most swimmers compete in brief suits. So check your local college's athletic dept. web site, attend some of their home fall and winter swim meets, and enjoy!

Yes the dual meets or tri-meets or smaller non-divisional meets - the men's team all wear speedos of some style. I can vouch for that at Purdue, the dual meet a couple weeks ago against Western Kentucky all the Purdue men wore their team black speedo with the Purdue logo.

Smile

This morning I went to the Y to swim my laps and was a little irritated to see that the swim team from the high school across the river was using the pool for a practice and what looked like an intrasquad meet. So I was relegated to the other pool, the one whose water temperature is 85. I managed to literally sweat out 18 laps before calling it quits.

What was interesting to see was that many of the guys were wearing briefs with the rest wearing jammers. It looked pretty evenly divided. So, high school guys are wearing briefs, not only for their meets, but for practice as well.

Default Speedos coming back

At the FINA World Masters in Montreal this summer, there were lots of guys of all ages and shapes in Speedos, especially wild, colourful ones. More jammers than Speedos, but a good mix nonetheless. Guys were walking around the outdoor pools all day looking hot and sexy. (I'd add a picture but when I click the icon, it asks for a url, so not sure how to add an image file.)
