Default Editing?

Is there a way to edit or delete things you've written here?

Even after you have posted an item you can edit it (until someone else posts on the thread), this is your chance to test and repair links etc.
A correction is better than permanently posting a failed link then a series of 2nd, 3rd and fourth attempts.
Don't type urls, it never works right first time, copy and paste them, it is quicker, more accurate and if the link fails it is due to computer error not yours.

This bit added in Edit mode for no apparent reason.

Ah! I see the edit button on my recent contributions, but it isn't present on older entries.

It would be nice to delete my first entry in the Lycra forum, where I jabbed Mike for misspelling Lycra. He has since corrected his error, and my post now doesn't make any sense.

Default lycra lycar lyarc lyrac etc.

Yep - I remember that Mike moved fast so that your post wasn't understandable but don't be embarrassed - there must be many occasions where members look back and think "OMG, did I really say that?"

I await Torchwatch's answer to your question about old posts with interest and have one of my own, viz there are Posting Rules at the bottom of the page and one says you may NOT delete your post and so , with my inexperience
of forum web design, I am confused by what I read.

I never read the posting rules, can never understand them, just find out what the system will allow by trial and error.

The edit button stays open for a while, but goes away after maybe 2 posts after yours. perhaps there is a timer too.
