What are your swimwear specifications?
The purpose of this exercise is to gauge the skimpiness of your swimwear using height (i.e. if it is low rise or not) and the widths of the sides. Apologies for using centimetres, but I feel this is more accurate. So - my types of swimwear are:
Speedo endurance Height - 25 cm Sides - 4.8 cm Nice and dependable. Bogner Height - 24 cm Sides - 4.5 cm The centimetre less really makes a difference! Hom microbrief Height - 25 cm Sides - 4 cm And a lot more leg exposure.... |

Very interesting exercise. I'm not sure I got the height measurements correct. I measured from the top of the front of the suit to the bottom seam and I measured in inches.
Nike Water Polo Height: 7.5" Side seam: 2.25" Turbo Height: 7.5" Side seam: 2" Euro Sporti Height: 6.5" (and this really makes a difference) Side seam: 2" Aussiebum Wonderjock Height: 7" Side seam: 1.5" The Aussiebum suits are very deceptive. I would ordinarily wear a size Medium but I had to return one because it was way too big. Even the size Small which I have in the 1.5 and the 1.5 WJ is looser than any of my other suits. Maybe it's because the suits are 100% nylon. D67 |

How do you measure the height ?
A pouch curves on it's way up but does not add to the height. Dooley's reply came in while I was typing. The bottom seam is usually well forward and confuses the issue, giving very different measures for front and back. Last edited by Torchwatch : 07-30-2015 at 09:37 PM. |

I measured the height from the waistline to the first stitching at the bottom of the crotch.

That's exactly what I did, Bede. Another interesting way of measuring would be from the navel to the very top of the waistline of the suit. That would be a way of comparing one suit to another in terms of how low it rides on the hips.

True, but would it not depend on how much you stretch it or not?

You're right about that, but however big or small your package is, it will likely stretch the suits pretty much the same amount all the time. With that being the case, you'd still be able to get a comparison among the suits. D67 |
