Water Parks
Any one wear a speedo to a water park?
I did at Atlantis didn't see anyone else doing so, even though speedo, while in the minority, were fairly common at the pools, beach and even the outdoor fast food stands. Disney actually seems to have more speedos than any other water park I have attended, probably because it draws more foreigners. |

If you go on the slides, water parks are tough on speedos - which are rather expensive to replace!!!
If I were going to a park, I'd wear something cheap like short swim trunks. By the way, if you have a pair of boardies, you can also make them into short cut offs -and that would be a symbol of "Protest" against the long & baggy look!!! CD |

I have worn my swim brief cut suits to several water parks, including Disney. Agree with CD that the slides can be tough on the fabric. The last time I went I took a thin mesh swim drag suit and wore it over my suit when I did the slides. If you've seen these on guys at swim practice they are relly thin and almost sheer, so your suit shows right through.

I haven't been to a water park in ages, but the next time I go, I'm definitely using the oldest, cheapest speedo I own. It's still in decent shape, but it'll be due to be replaced soon anyhow, so a little extra wear won't be an issue.

The best way to use a water slide is to wear speedos, tuck the back into a thong just before you launch and slide down on your ass. Bare skin runs faster on wet plastic than fabrics. Once in the pool at the base of the slide pull your speedos into their usual position and unless someone was right behind you at the top of the slide then no one need know.
It happens like this in outdoor pool water slides all over France, when the British see the French doing it at first they are shocked, then they join in, what would you sacrifice to go faster? Of course most public and campsite pools ban board shorts allowing only speedos and square cuts. |
