The Christian Ocean YouTube videos

I do not know how many of you are familiar with the Christian Ocean YouTube site. The site features something very near and dear to the membership here, extensive videos of fit young adult males getting to try on a swim brief or thong for the very first time in their lives in a variety of locations around the world.

Google-owned YouTube has always had fairly strict rules as to what could be shown in the videos, in particular no nudity or anything that would be considered pornographic. Part of my interest in all of this relates to exactly what YouTube considers going too far. For the swim briefs, some of them get pretty skimpy and certainly outline obvious anatomical features. Some of the briefs even have a cloth pouch that can hold a strap-like cup that makes the guy appeared “endowed” but without an obvious outline of a penis. YouTube seems fine with all of this.

The more interesting issue relates to the design of the thongs. YouTube has no problem showing butt cheeks. Apparently that does not trigger nudity censorship. A swim thong could be designed with a wider and longer thong back, one that was just big and long enough to cover the butt crack but not cinch up between the butt cheeks. However, the thong suits in the videos almost invariably have backs short enough and narrow enough to recede deeply between the glutes, and YouTube seems fine with video of that as well.

The videos go through a lot of different suits and try-ons, and a number of the suits are very expensive—thongs that sell for $130-$150, for a single thong from very high-end manufacturers, for example. I gather that Christian Ocean gets a lot of these suits for free from the manufacturers in exchange for the YouTube publicity. The guys trying on the suits and then wearing them at a public pool or beach get to keep the suits as “payments” for agreeing to be in the videos.

The videos typically are each 5-10 minutes long, are quite entertaining. I guess YouTube is good with all of them as having something of a PG-13 rating. They are also educational for guys who have yet to wear their first swim brief or thong.
