No shorts allowed on dress down day
There's a dress down day at my work place this week, but it's not too dress down as the wearing of shorts is forbidden, despite the warm weather. A couple of strange things come to mind.
1.Dress shorts can be smarter looking than a pair of scruffy jeans. 2. Women are allowed to wear short skirts on any day, but on this one day they won't be allowed to wear a pair of shorts, which could be longer and more modest than a skirt! |

If women are allowed to wear skirts then men are allowed to wear skirts too.
School boys in a mixed school in Britain have again resorted to wearing skirts to get around school uniform rules that ban shorts in class. The headmistress of the school concerned has promised to get the rule banning shorts changed but meanwhile has permitted the wearing of PE kit in class until the end of term. |

I was tempted to wear one of my sleeveless gym vests to work, but sports tops aren't allowed on dress-down days either. And a vest without a logo could be classed as underwear.
I think the main issue here is to avoid any semblance of male nudity. |

Latest news on the school uniform issue in the UK is that over 100 head teachers have banned skirts in their schools, so both boys and girls now have to wear tailored black long trousers all year round in class.
