Confused

I go swimming every week in a pool in my black speedos. Afterwards, an older english man also wearing black speedos came into the sauna and started talking to me. He's one of the only other guys I've seen wearing speedos in there. He asked me if I'd like to join him for laps in the future. We exchanged numbers in the changing room and sure enough, the following week, we went swimming again in our speedos.

This was great, we swam, chatted in the sauna etc. He then invited me out for drinks after. We spent way too long and got very tipsy, but then just went home. He has a wife and kids and hasn't really hinted that he wants again more from me. He continually invites me to come swimming, and we are always the only ones in speedos. What I'm confused about is, does he want anything more from me, or is he just looking for a friend, and maybe enjoys wearing speedos. Whenever I brought up the speedos in the pub, he would quickly change the subject, any ideas?

Did it occur to you that he saw you swimming in speedos so figured were serious about your exercise so was a good match for an exercise partner? Having another person to swim with is beneficial. It keeps you from stopping early or skipping exercise. Evidently he found your company pleasant and so invited you out for a drink. There are millions of str8 married men that got out for drinks with another man. You are trying too hard to hang the gay tag on someone because he wears a speedo to swim laps. He may just be a serious swimmer. It's that same assumption that makes guys avoid speedos. Speedo=Gay

Maybe the guy just has a "kink" for wearing speedos and not much of an interest for engaging in anything XXX.

Kinks and fetishes can be a very abstract and complex form of behavior and in many cases, they cannot be understood.

What do you want from him ? So far you are 2 guys that swim together in speedos then drink and chat in the pub. You seem to be expecting him to make a move and you seem excited while with him hoping that he will. Once you know what you want then you can make a set of rules to work by. You could ask him to wash you back or pull off your speedos in the showers if no one else is around. He may be too shy and inexperienced to make a move if you don't suggest it or he may be enjoying your company and want nothing more.

i can see the fear of a possible gay friendship, which to me is a private matter. He may have really liked how that black speedo swimsuit looked on you, well fitting and looked snug and sexy on you, he may have been just having male fantasies wanting to strip it off you in the shower and hopefully not having serious gay thoughts. It's not easy in these times, not being confused as another guy's sexuality. If you do get together again having a few drinks, let him talk about wearing speedos, yet letting him know your'e not into having a gay private relationship with another guy, but if he just has a fantasy stripping you out of your speedo, then enjoy it and if you do feel comfortable with his company, just let it happen, wearing your sexiest, snuggest speedo swimsuit, other than the black one and enjoy the feeling of that tight wet lycra nylon slowly being peeled off you. You both might be happy, yet respecting one another's sexuality.

I get you, you will be confused at this point. He is giving a slight hint which can also lead wrong paths. In my consideration he is just being a friend, maybe he is too alone to feel something. Getting tipsy isn't a big deal. This is generally to start the friendship. But, if you have doubt then you can go with the flow. Give time and get to know that man well.
