Well my guess would be that most male teens would rather fit in with their peers and not subject themselves to ridicule or accusation of how they are displaying or flaunting their sexual orientation as that of being other than popular with that crowd. They are not competitive swimmers so they don't need or even understand the need to wear anything less. They are playing it safe by wearing what fashion dictates. Can you blame them? For all you know, your noticing and reaction to what they are wearing is being noticed by them and being commented about amongst themselves and they are laughingly giving you a label. Now I wonder what might tempt anyone to make any assumptions based upon how skimpy a man's swimsuit is. I just haven't a clue but maybe there are some forums somewhere that will shed some light.
