Interesting post and good points on descriptions and acceptable swimwear.


Terminological differences can cause confusion as I would often expect to use the word "brief". I would mean a "racing" speedo but would avoid that with an American readership because of a confusion with underwear (same problem arises with "pants" and "trousers").
In the US "euro cut" or "euro style" often seems to be a preferred term but "athletic" might, I suspect ,
convey an adequate understanding for some but a confusing expectation for others.
The front and back display of Aqux and other brands is a delight on the oriental physique though questionable for the bodybuilder type as you say (and their suits are mostly all custommade accordingly).
Under the circumstances of such minimalism on the "speedo" scene , with butt crack and pubes display, the Japanese aversion to full genital revelation does seem a bit strange - but I will happily go along with the saying that "expectation is sometimes better than realisation".
