I have a pair of these they may be ladies as they come with a peel off pad inside the crotch area. they are also unlined with no string. Having said that they fit me perfectly and look great!

Good news, mine arrived, also had peel-off pad, but have a pouch shape so definitely for men. My hips measure 39" and size Large fit perfectly, good since there is no string. My partner says it is too colorful, so I know it is good.
