speedos with cotton lining
There are several older swim briefs from the 1950' to mid 1960's, when speedos had nylon inside lining. I remember when very young, got to wear Catalina swim briefs that had inside cotton lining. The suit was made of thick polyester and more coverage than the newer speedo swimwear of the 1970's, like the waist band covered one's waist, just below the belly button. The suit fit really well at the time, but didn't dry quickly like the nylon lycra ones of now. After swimming in those Catalina swim briefs, I couldn't keep them on when wet and soon into the showers to change out of them. Being so snug on my lowers the Catalina swim briefs were harder to to take off especially when wet, yet really liked wearing them than those awful baggy cotton swim trunks of the time period. I think the present speedos fit much better and feel lighter. It's nice how quickly the material drys and the inside lining does makes me feel snug and secure, so I can keep them on longer. The only swim suits that I can think of with a cotton lining that aren't seen often, are the cotton lyrcra swim suits from the 1970's and 80's that are seen on e bay also.
