11: The Hideaway continued
"Who is the cute guy with you?" Kelly asked looking at a large picture of two college swimmers standing side by side, wet hair and clingy wet matching race suits.
"Oh, that is Zach and me at our last college swim meet. He is my best friend, even now. We talk every day. He is such a cool guy," I replied. "I love that picture of us." Zach was looking pretty serious, caught in his thoughts, which he was. I was more in the moment, which was reflected by our contrasting expressions. Our team suits were from the era when smaller and tighter was better, and being wet, the photo captured every detail of us.
"He is cute for sure," Kelly responded. "I mean, both of you." We stared at the picture and a few others. "You still have that swimsuit?" Kelly asked.
"Of course," I replied.
We returned our focus to the suits on the table. This was about to get fun.
