I doubt I'll ever find one but any hints to get me started finding would be awesome

The secret is the water polo ball. It's a water polo team suit made for the team.

It has a front seam allowing the swim brief to be made from 3 sections of differently colouured fabric; red yellow and blue.
So look for a polo suit maker that does front seams.

The last page (page 5) has some discounted suits, but I think they are discontinued designs, and they mostly have only super small (kids') or larger - 36" or more waists - available.

Agreed, I think it’s Turbo based on what I can see of the logo on the right hip. And the front seam seems more optical than actual (like part of the print design.
