I have read this before and think he is on point about the do what you want perspective. I find it contradicting that he starts out with society and culture rants, but later says it will surprise you that people just don't care what you wear. I wear some form of brief swimwear exclusively and have my whole life. Most of my wearing has been in the USA, but multiple countries abroad. First, I think nothing of my swimsuit choice, and I have never had any concern about it from anyone in the USA, ever. I don't wear thongs or sides narrower than 1.5 inches, although I have worn 1 inch sides occasionally.

My point in all of this is I think too many guys get hung up on the fear that a giant anti Speedo culture exists when it really doesn't. At least, for me, I have never experienced it.

Indeed. Worried that one person may find offence and will report you to the authorities, but who won't do anything because you're not doing anything wrong.
