Swim Jocks
 

Hi, did any of you wear swim jocks in speedos on swim team? Thinking of the old nylon ones but also any other types?

never heard of them.

please describe in more detail.

Keep in mind the Speedos (or whatever brand) were less brief than they are today - typically had 3,4 even as much as 6 inch sides. Those almost were what we call today a square cut. Typically we wore them for modesty as compared to protection like you might need in other sports.

The first jockstrap I ever had was one to wear underneath my speedo when I was in middle school. It wasn't a requirement...my Mom thought it would just be a good idea to wear one. Not many of the other boys wore them, and I found them to be too constricting so I quit wearing it for swimming. I loved wearing it instead of underwear or to sleep in. Back in my day speedos we wore were cut with a two inch side.
