I've never seen as many Speedo wearers. They seem to outnumber the board shorts.

In my experience:
South Beach in Miami Beach... (Also all Miami Beach have speedos), Haulover Beach too (speedos and nudity) .. Really I think Miami 10 years ago had more speedos than Brazil.... (I don´t know how is right now)

That vid was made in 2014 so it closely reflects the current trend back to speedos.

As I've mentioned, I'm seeing more guys out running in short shorts so there must be a general trend toward minimal athletic wear.

Yep.. Also in some places at world (like cities, urban towns and suburbs) the guys are beginning back to walk at the streets or running at the parks shirtless at the hit days as was at the 70's and early 80's....

I like my beaches big, open and uncrowded. I've never done a package tour, been packed into a plane then a hotel then be expected to remain around the hotel pool or the hotel's regimented sun loungers, side by side with other package tourists.

If you go on a cruise and your ship happens to be in port with a couple of European ships, you will be amazed at the majority of speedo brief wearing guys if you go to a beach, it was like 80% speedo and I proudly was a part of that:D
