JAKED brand swim briefs
1 Attachment(s)
Anyone ever buy or try JAKED swimwear?
Where is it made? They seem to fit well on this diver. :) |
another mystery
No - never heard of Jaked but saw reference in a press report
to an Italian manufacturer and then tracked them down to Gallarate, province of Varese, in the Lombardy region, of the far north of Italy. Here is a link (if you can work your way around a very disfunctional website): http://www.jaked.it/resorse/file/competition%20new.pdg The brand seems to be listed many times with UK swimwear suppliers but looks as if their main product is jammers. They had previously produced a red bodysuit in 100% polyurethane (now banned in competition) and a very short vid. of a German guy in one is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRo0uZP-WYM As for the pic of the "diver" it is in monochrome but the suit could well be carrying the tricolore of Italy. Cannot agree it being a good fit however - certainly not comparable to Tom Daley in a Team GB blue Speedo. |
follow up....
Ignore jaked.it link above - it does not work and seems to have been withdrawn.
Instead see whether this works: http://jaked.corecommerce.com/featured.html This is the USA Jaked distributor in Florida. If it opens get to menu "categories" and select Italian Collection. In there look at Brief Italia - that may be the suit in your monochrome pic. |
If I recall correctly, Jaked suits were made by an Italian company, though I'm not sure they were made in Italy or were imported. Their company shot to fame around 2008-2009 when they developed those full-body polyurethane tech suits Byron mentioned that helped break so many world records at the 2009 World Swim Championships in Rome (something like 43 world records were set, which was unheard of in previous meets). Then swimming officials wisely decided to ban those suits since they aided a swimmer's flotation - something that had been banned for many years. Since then, I think Jaked has had a tougher time in the market.

Wow Byron, you are sure a genius when it comes to recognizing suits and then where to find them online. Thank you again! You found the ArrestMe and now the Jaked :) After looking at it on the Jaked website, don't know if I would buy it :( |
Any idea who this diver is? I would guess from an Italian team since the Italian flag is on the speedo?
|
Jaked
LOL - thought you might say that - not a choice for you on this occasion I think.
I am not familiar with names in the Italian national diving team but you are right as Jaked have been/are suppliers of suits and I have often seen Team Italy divers /swimmers in blue but not brands Speedo, Adidas, etc. Swimmboy summarises the situation above - the company was indeed formed in 2008 and Gallarate has a history of textile manufacture (somewhat ironic - official objections to the exceptional record-breakers were based partly on the rule that material worn by competitors must be a textile). |
Any italians on this website from crazy Italy that might know who the diver is? name? hometown? lol
|
since you ask......
I doubt it (and doubt even more a reply with the adjective crazy )
It seems to me you have found Tommaso Rinaldi who was at the 2012 London Olympics and diving for Italy on the springboard (and whose father Domenico is a past Olympian diver too). Has been an Italy junior diving champion several times. http://www.corbisimages.com/images/C...1-fa5423c83174 Born Rome January 18 1991 - lives Trieste Height 1.81m and Weight 78kg (sorry - I don't have his shoe size) |
I have seen him on several images. Very beautiful man. Now he makes Jaked look great on him! lol
I went to Italy for a week in 2008, ended up staying 4 months. Met a guy on my last day there and moved in with him. Left after 4 months. If that says anything about Italian lovers. We went to the beach in Grosetto where his family was from. Wow, the Italian men in speedos were amazing! |
RE: post#9 Tommaso Rinaldi??
Is this Tommaso Rinaldi in post #9?? He looks different on Google images.
|
Color pic of diver...found it!

Wish he had a bigger bulge to show thru that speedo.
Flopping around as he's running off that deck :) Alexandre Despatie (Canadian diver) made headlines for that :) Either he knows how to use that "wonderjock" (from AussieBum) technology very well or he's just naturally gifted. |
Congratulations....
You made it at last and "my" Rinaldi in color is the same guy as "your" Rinaldi in color, I am sure - and yours is on a board, not a deck.
His "flopping around" was what in fact made me suggest not a perfect fit for his Jaked there. Various pics in wet and dry situations can be deceptive but look at his body-shape. He may have a height problem and surprises me as a diver in terms of points gained for imperceptible water-entry, where the compact smaller guys have an advantage (think Chinese) - not to mention the extra twist which might be possible for them to incorporate in their dive before entry (added points gained for difficulty). With long legs and big feet I would see him more as a swimmer, like Michael Phelps. Btw, I don't think AD has ever been seen in AussieBums. |
Italy
As you say beach in post#10 do you mean Marina di Grosseto to be precise?
http://www.mareimmobiliare.it/images/marina-01.jpg Never been there (nor experienced an Italian lover) but seems to be not far from Chiantishire (the joke name given to Tuscany which so many Brits. like and where they have bought homes). Btw as afewgoodmen is rather unusual as a nom de plume, are you a Tom Cruise fan? (the 1992 movie about charges against three US Marines). |
PS to post#4
Yes, I think Speedo caught a cold there too and it must have been very expensive for them to be left with so many surplus LZR bodysuits.
This is how they (rather unusually) ended up: http://www.designboom.com/architectu...suit-pavilion/ (a creation by Chelsea School of Art & Design in London I believe) |

Obviously some appreciation by NJH there.
You would not imagine the number of whacky ideas devised - and not sure that particular one is actually still in place (which I think is rather clever). Has anyone noted the current Banksy-mania in NYC ? I know the NYPD want to catch him and the Mayor is very disapproving but I wouldn't be surprised to see a chunk of wall ending up in MoMA ! |
Tommaso Rinaldi sure loves his blue..

Must be his favorite color.
You can see the lining of his schlong as well. Looks like he might be circumcised. Cicumcised Italian...hmm? |

I guess black to...
nice pair of Arena speedos |
TR
Good pix - but blue not so much his favorite color - Team Italy has stuck with that for some time now (see what I mean about him appearing more as a swimmer?)
Btw no reply on the movie A Few Good Men and I forgot to add The Balvenie to the single malts. |
updated pic of Tommaso Rinaldi
here is an updated pic of Tommaso...still damn good looking!!!
Too bad he's not wearing a skimpy swimsuit...would have went great with that nice defined V-shape! http://lnx.lgssportlab.com/blog/wp-c...RINALDI_31.jpg |
Tomasso Rinaldi
Not sure why we need an update but why  on a circumcised Italian?
Btw , no answer about Tom Cruise (post#15 - your forum name) |
he changes his speedos quite often

Yes, and a haircut in the update pic? (didn't recognise him in profile).
Came across the Italian guys again only recently - was going to post but didn't want to bore you. |

Jaked has such a limited collection (at least on the Jaked USA) site.
It does seem that most of there swim briefs have a flattened front. |
blue again...
Yes - also found this one which may be an Italian diver (too small for swimmer) but can't see the tricolore to be sure:
http://24.media.tumblr.com/18d19c464...7vl4o1_500.jpg |
I emailed Jaked and suggested the idea that the company needs to design a 1.5 inch suit.
The person responding said she would forward the suggestion to the right people. Hopefully something will pop up this summer. Keep checking there website :) |
guess
OK.....not quite sure again but may also be Italy Junior Water Polo squad here:

Cuties! However just smaller sides and more cut on the backend would land these men the perfect pic! |
line-up....
Yes, and no.3 guy might downsize to flatter his slighter physique
(this design would be interesting to see but somewhat inappropriate in the circumstances I feel: http://37.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ld...tyeio1_500.jpg) |

Unusual square ring sides caught my eye Louis - and I have posted once before (but not in blue). So far have not retraced that pic but I do remember Torchwatch gave me some information at the time.
