What did you do in a speedo today?

Today I wore a speedo 1-inch shoreline red brief at the pool for swimming 2000 yards. Great fit and looks more athletic than the regular speedo solar (has side stripes).

I went out at 5:00 am for a run on my quiet country road in a black speedo triathlon brief and singlet.

(we've had red Speedo and black Speedo so far)

epicinspeedo 09-19-2013 11:41 PM

Went out again this morning, nice humid 66 degrees, shed my shirt and went with speedo only... Only difference is one of my neighbors passed me on his way to work at 5:30... Guy in a speedo out running is not a common Midwest sight!

knikon 09-20-2013 02:11 AM

I spent my whole day at work. Maybe Ill don it satuday

ARe you talking about the 1" solar they sell on swimoutlet. does the truly measure to be 1" on the sideseam? It sure doesn't look like it in the pics they have posted on the site.

Mind sending a pic? I was thinking about buying one..but didn't feel like it was skimpy enough :)

Byron 10-18-2013 01:18 AM

Couldn't find SwimOutlet's 1" Solar - though their availability these days seems to be more on Ebay than shown by swimsuit suppliers.
Btw, if skimpy is required I previously forgot to mention Joe Snyder:

Solar

I'm not much for posting pictures.
Solar is just about 1" at the side seam, but doesn't stay narrow very far.
It's as skimpy as I am willing to go whenever I have to wear anything.

knikon 10-18-2013 03:32 AM

My solar is more like 1.5" at the seam and it hides the detail well. It is one of the more modest suits in my collection as it minimizes my buldge not accentuates it...

It's a small black brief a friend gave me a while back. I usually take a medium size, and it barely covered my bulge. Sexy feeling to wear it!;)

Earlier today, I was asked if I could send a picture of myself to someone who was interested, so I took three: one in a 2.5" blue pattern speedo, one in a 2" solid green one, and one in a sort of black posing strap.

My screen name was a compromise shorthand for Old Goat in Speedos as I just turned 53.

knikon 10-27-2013 05:16 AM

After a nice long stroll on zuma beach I took a nice doze in my speedo. While I was walking on the shoreline I saw a man quickly dash out of the ocean into his towel (I don't know if it was to avoid looks from a group of 4 women) wearing a bright red skimpy bikini (Brazilian back at max)... To each our own I guess.

Torchwatch 10-27-2013 11:21 AM

One man in a bright red skimpy bikini (Brazilian back at max) may seem a bit odd, a dozen men in bright red skimpy bikinis (Brazilian back at max) looks like a team, while a hundred men in bright red skimpy bikinis (Brazilian back at max) becomes normal. Only by being prepared to be that first man on the beach this morning can we push the envelope.

knikon 10-27-2013 07:10 PM

In california most of the guys wear boardshorts that go to their ankles... It didn't seem odd to me (because I obviously am willing to wear the same thing) but to some it is odd and it can be intimidating too. In a bikini more so than a speedo you will get looks, quips, and people taking pictures of you. I dont mind as they are usually positive, inquisitive, or humorous but I have got the "ick" and "what a freak too". It can be intimidating to many which is why they cover up when too many people start coming by...

CA insight

Zuma not for the speedo-friendly beach list I take it.
A big contrast to learn of such conservatism (not to mention downright lack of good manners of course) in a state where all the wacky things of the USA are assumed by many to originate.

knikon 10-28-2013 01:52 AM

Lol I wouldn't say that as everybody I saw there was cordial. Most minded their own business. Where you will find nasty people is Santa monica/Venice or Redondo. Oddly the more conservative aeras are pretty cool about it. In fact In Laguna I stumbled across a cove with more speedo wearers then boardie guys. Many Conservatives out here are different from the norm in that they are open to many things many others arent.

OK.....

Btw how would this go down (or should I say stay up ) at Laguna? A completely new one to me - the Union Flag is obvious but frustratingly there appears to be some small text near his left hand which might explain but which I cannot read.

Just to bring the thread back to its original question...( I do like the conversation and pics, though)...

This morning I stepped out to a "balmy" 52 here in the Midwest. I left the tights I wore on Monday in my bedroom and just went with a blue Speedo and a long sleeved t-shirt.Not sure how it looked, but I am getting used to running in a Speedo. I will be blessed if I can pull off similar runs in the months of December-February.

knikon 12-27-2013 04:34 AM

"All I want for christmas is a real good tan".... Went to Malibu christmas eve humming Kenny Chesney. I thought I was working a full day but when I got off at 12pm I went straight for the shore. Word of advise, always keep a speedo and towel in the trunk, it has saved many a free day.

xtr25 01-06-2014 01:11 PM

I went for a swim at Waikiki beach, and then walked along the beach strip back to my hotel. The only thing that I wore was my new TYR Safari All Over Racer (in the "Rainbow" color). I always enjoy a good beach-side strut, and I got a lot of smiles and approving stares while strutting in my bikini.

I went down the hotel hot tub wearing my speedo and emerged with a large bulge!

Yes, it was the red and white one. As I walked back to my chair, I walked with confidence knowing that anyone who was looking would see the suit molded to my stuff and they could pretty much see everything.

I have maybe picked up a bit more on the tat. here - so enjoy again !

Just got home from swimming 1500m in a local pool, very quiet and no one else in speedos.
I wore my bright light blue Desmiit briefs with running shorts type sides. They fit nicely but I could feel them riding low at the back during turns. They have an outside waist cord at the front which I tucked in while swimming.

50 Free 01-12-2014 11:34 PM

Well you know SwimOutlet had the Sporti Flags suit on sale for $7.49 and by the time I ordered all they had left was size 32, which arrived yesterday. It fits great and got extremely wet this afternoon. Nobody at the pool had any complaints. It is a tad skimpier than what I normally wear but I don't mind and hope none of you do.

dorcas3 01-12-2014 11:47 PM

Flags

I have a Sporti flag suit for nearly two years and have about 5 miles of swimmng on it. I think it will continue to hold up for a while longer. I ask guys in the locker room to name the countries! Great suit. JVT

OK, start naming.
(they seem to vary a lot in the way the fabric is cut and this is front only and seems to be the clearer of several pics).

Byron 01-13-2014 12:27 AM

laps

Torchwatch's blue Dermaati may be the low cut style and I like the allusion to running shorts in that design. It occurs to me however that they might displace at the turns as there would be considerable water pressure at the rear down the butt crack at the moment of kicking off the pool wall (or I may be speaking only of my own very clumsy tumble-turns).
Btw, does the total distance comprise 30@50m or 60@25m ?
(ie Olympic length or otherwise)

Torchwatch 01-13-2014 04:38 PM

The Desmiit brief did not feel as if it was falling off or exposing too much at the turns, I just felt the pressure of the waistband across the top of my cheeks.
I trained at Strood Leisure Centre last night, they have a 25m pool, the nearest 50m pool is at Chrystal Palace although the 2012 Olympic Park comes in a close 2nd.

Byron 01-14-2014 12:00 AM

pools

Been to Crystal Palace just once (and showing its age now unfortunately).
Thought I would show off a bit with our local piece of sports development by the local authority. The 80 years old Lido was left to rot for years and then, not only did we get a splendid refurbishment (it was by then nationally Listed as of Special Scientific or Historic Interest), but a new OLYMPIC size indoor pool alongside as well ! Now been going for three years - the pic shows the white building at the left, which is the original cafe and within all the dark glazing behind are the new 50m pool, gym and sports halls.
