feeling feminine in a speedo

I've found myself feeling feminine at times when I wear my speedo. Is it just me, or do others feel this way, too? Just want to know if I'm not alone.

Byron 06-26-2013 06:24 PM

femininity

Can you say more to explain the feeling with speedos?
You have described wearing women's bikinis in the past but does that mean tops as well as bottoms - and does the construction of the speedo somehow give a
different sensation?
For me the speedo is a very macho article of clothing . No "feminine" feelings come into the wearing of it whatsoever but I need to understand a lot more about cross-dressers I think.

skinnykid 06-26-2013 08:59 PM

I agree with Byron. I never feel feminine wearing a speedo.

SwimTeamSpeedo 06-27-2013 02:17 AM

No judgment here, but I am with the other posts. I find I feel very masculine when I wear my swimsuits. I do not find "speedos" to be feminine in any way. I don't know about Byron, but I think Skinnykid is a swimmer, as am I. That may make an impact as the suit is part of our sport of choice.

shaulis 06-27-2013 05:13 AM

I always feel masculine when wearing my swimsuits. I don't understand this, if a male has worn brief speedo style swimwear for years and years why all of a sudden would he feel feminine while wearing that same style swimwear. I don't get the thought process.

California Dolphin 06-27-2013 06:34 AM

Nothing "femmie" for me at all.

Wearing short shorts or a speedo style suit gives me a very athletic and confident feeling.

kumu 06-27-2013 02:34 PM

I body surf and ocean swim in mine but they also have a lot of sexuality for me, male sexuality. I don't think anything looks better, or looks more male on a guy than a speedo.

Byron 06-27-2013 04:53 PM

nothing looks better...

Very true - it's a no-brainer I think is the phrase.
Some swimmers on the pool starting blocks rather spoil the line-up with their jammers but I guess I must concede their right to make a faster competition time if that's what they do for them.
A big cheer for the divers and waterpolo teams however - they look great and hopefully nothing's going to change there !

Jammers (and "Half Pants") have got to be the weirdest looking/feeling apparel ever.

I can imagine wearing jammers while sitting with my upper legs covered and my knees sticking out. No way in Hell would I ever wear a jammer.

kumu 06-29-2013 09:11 AM

Not trying to be a wise guy but what does feeling feminine mean?

sebbie 06-29-2013 11:53 AM

That was my question. I sometimes get an erection wearing a Speedo but that doesnt exactly feel feminine, at least I don't think so. I am lost here too

kumu 06-29-2013 09:10 PM

I would punch a "Like" button for that if i could.

Byron 06-29-2013 09:28 PM

good question...

..I'd like to know too (my post#2 - no response)

Torchwatch 06-29-2013 11:58 PM

Some boys wear their sister's underwear and later their wife's. If unmarried they have to buy their own women's panties or steal them off washing lines. A guy in my home town even got caught by the police trying to steal panties with a fishing rod through the letterbox of a sex shop at midnight.
I believe the objective when wearing them is to suppress their masculinity by staying soft, even hiding their flaccid bulge. Koala Swim make a thong that takes the penis down and under completely concealing it (while displaying pubic hair) for a feminine appearance. In any sexual experience they have in this mode they assume the woman's role.
Someone with this fetish may well find the tightness of a speedo or smooth front bikini a feminine experience, while to the rest of us it is masculine. It seems best to accept their feelings while holding our own in our own ways.

T girl sheer

Must have missed it (does that website hold the record for the longest menu on the internet ? ).

knikon 08-29-2013 03:38 AM

I don't feel feminine either. It does make me feel confident and sexy and even tho I repel 30% of the women who see me it makes me feel male. I am proud of who I am. In the US, men are shamed for their anatomy. It's no wonder many men hide in baggy clothes.

Maybe you feel feminine because sexiness is equated with women. Men who "look sexy" to women nowadays are usually men who flaunt their wealth not share their body. It is almost taboo to consider the male body sexy unless you are gay or metrosexual...

Byron 08-29-2013 06:13 AM

the F feeling

Well, no progress in understanding this over two months so I guess it's the end of the road unless bikinilover cares to say more after reading fifteen posts.
Btw, has metrosexual become a modern substiute for bisexual?

knikon 08-30-2013 04:56 AM

I guess so...

kumu 08-30-2013 12:32 PM

What does it mean to feel feminine? Like seeking the receptive role in gay sex? Or is it like wanting say make up, or just wearing the clothes? I just don't know what it means. I might be feeling feminine and not even know it, but I would never ever consider parting with Mr. Happy and I like muscles, mine and other guys.

California Dolphin 08-31-2013 03:04 AM

I wish people (both men and women) would get over the hang up that men in speedos and short shorts = Gay.

And don't give me the absurd explanation that the stigma came from Gay Parades that featured men in speedos.

Speedos were worn by STR8 men and boys decades before there were Gay parades so the Gays didn't "adopt" any symbol that didn't already exist as normal.

As for the "Feminine" aspect, that's a matter of the wearer's self perception. Complete or 95% nudity isn't a gender specific fetish. Many guys like speedos and nudity simply because it's arousing and in many cases, there's no other connotation associated with doing it.

Byron 08-31-2013 04:38 AM

short shorts

To add another point, whatever happened (and when) to denim cut-offs? Once the prerogative of the boys - now entirely taken over by the girls (and even gay guys avoid them).

Torchwatch 08-31-2013 11:37 AM

Just been to the chemist for cough mixture, saw a guy in cut off jeans half way between knee and hip. He looked confident and straight.

singletlover 08-31-2013 12:40 PM

Always thought cut offs were a great way to get an extra life out of jeans. Mine always gave out at the knees. No comments please.

Byron 08-31-2013 02:00 PM

good denim reports

Glad to hear that their demise in males is not as extensive as I thought and I too don't like good jeans going to waste after being often down on my knees (in the garden I would add).
Need good thighs though - anyone get turned on by African safari tv documentaries ? (short shorts on the rangers, out in the sun in the bush all day)

louis 08-31-2013 04:49 PM

feeling fem...l.

Same here I like african safari shorts a lot I allwayswondered were toget a few pairs.

knikon 08-31-2013 07:17 PM

If you look at garment history most "women only" garments were once male only garments... Leotards, High heels, Thongs, Brief/bikini like garments, not to mention shorts, tees, polos, 3 piece suits, Jeans, etc...

I love cutoff jeans. I stopped wearing shorts due to farmers tan. I look stupid in a bikini with a tan at my knees.

Byron 08-31-2013 08:21 PM

high heels?

 Those for noblemen of the 17th century? - surely not the girls' stilettos as seen today ? (an ability to walk upright in which I admire but have no wish to attempt)

knikon 09-01-2013 03:02 AM

Indeed... High heels were originally for the active horseman designed for better control in the stirrups. Leotard came from a aircraft acrobat. Bikini/brief from the subligaria, loincloth and fundoshi...

Byron 09-01-2013 08:01 PM

stirrups?

LOL - I guess the Mongols and Red Indians would know nothing about those - as only for wimp horsemen?
I do wonder sometimes about the cowboys - crotch padding in athletes' triathlon events is given attention but those guys may be in the saddle all day (not to mention cattle riding at rodeos which makes my eyes water to see).

kumu 09-02-2013 11:21 AM

A few months back I helped a woman friend move. Her brother was also helping. He struck me as VERY masculine: beard, burly, jeans, flannel shirt. Butch, in a word. Last night I am talking with the female friend and she tells he has come out as a lingerie fan. She said he has beautiful panties, night gowns, the whole works, she said it was all real nice, feminine, all in real nice taste. Wow. I am glad it makes him happy. I don't think he's gay, though. Just thought I'd share. Fetishes are amazing, aren't they. Shoes, boots, all kinds of inanimate objects become sexual. There is no denying speedos have a sexual charge for me. So if somebody gets a similar rush out of panties or construction boots who am I to criticize.

Byron 09-02-2013 01:36 PM

the old saying....

...."you can't judge a book by its cover". There is quite a big range to find when looking into what you say - I can think of a (straight) guy at work who only enjoyed his sex if wearing a souwester.

KungFuBodybuilder 09-05-2013 08:15 PM

Im the opposite, I feel even more masculine when I wear my swimsuits.

knikon 09-07-2013 02:37 AM

Same here...

kumu 09-07-2013 12:59 PM

Agree. Agree is too short. I agree.

50 Free 09-07-2013 03:12 PM

I don't understand why anyone would feel feminine in a speedo or anything similar or less. When a man of the proportions and physique most qualified to wear one tastefully does, the image is anything but feminine. Help me understand what the problem might be, please.
As far as cutoffs, that's all I wore in the seventies, eighties, nineties, till I started getting criticized for it. When I lived in Georgia I'd get up in the morning, put on some cutoffs and boat shoes and be dressed for the day, unless a shirt might be required, then usually cut down or rag t-shirt sufficed. There aren't too many photos of me from that era that I am NOT dressed as described...LOL

Byron 09-08-2013 11:25 PM

where are you

bikinilover : - you must come back on this - we now have four pages of posts from many confused guys.

knikon 09-10-2013 05:32 AM

The only other reason I could guess is that the speedo is often compared to the bikini which is culturally (in the US) considered the epitome of womanness... Also the feeling of freedom in dress code which also seems to be a domain women tread....

A bit of a fashion faux pas I think - this guy seems to be in difficulty even with what might be a thong below to assist.

I think this would sum it up....thank you for putting it that way, knikon. This is just how I feel about it......if no one else does, I totally respect it. I was just wondering if anyone else felt the way I do at times when I wear my speedo.

Byron 10-14-2013 02:09 AM

Ok....

Going back to post#1 we see "feeling feminine". If that was alternatively expressed to say wearing a speedo creates empathy with women who freely enjoy wearing their own brief swimwear, then I think the feeling would be better understood.
