how many suits do you own? for now
I'm not sure if this question had been made before, but anyway if so, the answers now would have changed.
so, I only have 3 Turbos (2 briefs, 1 "tank trunk", well, so they name it) 1 japanese arena (very small and feels great) and one water polo suit of from the Botafogo wp team from Rio, Brazil. very small collection, indeed, and although never had the opportunity to wear them in a swimming pool or at the beach, I love and take care of this collection like a treasure. for me is like gold! thanks for your answers! :) |
sorry
I tried unsuccessfully to find some pic of this Botafogo suit I own, is made by a peruvian wp suits producer called Vista Water Polo. maybe should make one thread on this mark that makes suits for many national teams.
its also ironic, that Peru (where speedos-style suits are a rarity) produces suits for a giant like Brazil where they have lots of producers. |
I have many swimsuits from a few manufacturers. My new favorite are my Turbo suits.

yes, mine too! Turbos are the best (my opinion) :D |
I've got 17 brief swimsuits, 7 of which I use for swimming laps. My favorites are the Turbos, Sportis, and Nikes.

50! sebbie, you're an inspiration :) |
Too many to count, last time I counted the total was someplace in the 70's as I recall. But, I have lots of older suits from my younger days, they still fit but I don't wear them often. At least a dozen go back to my college days and one or two are end of high school.
|
I just did a quick count of 60 briefs and 5 squarecuts, plus a drawer half full of older ones I don't wear anymore. Mostly Speedo, quite a few Adidas, some Aussiebums, some Slazengers, then some 1sies or 2sies of Billabong, O'Neill, Geronimo, Scheisser, Garneau, Joop and Hom. AND I don't even swim. I wear them in my yard, and riding my bike. I got hooked on them as a kid and never stopped.

Knikon, Those of us who wear Turbos (STS, shaulis, Turbofan, myself) really love them. They are comfortably low cut with 2" sides, have a full lining if you get the water polo brief (which I recommend), and don't at all accentuate your package. You ought to try one and I'm sure you won't be disappointed. D67 |
As to the Billabong, probably came from ebay. but maybe from the men's swimsuit megastore (Badehose.com). I got a lot from there, too. I forgot to mention Bikkemborg (very scant feeling) and Agonswim water polo briefs. They have some substance to them. Have one Tommy Hilfiger brief, but never been able to catch a Quiksilver.
We all know that some days you're not in the mood for that same old thing. |

I got my Billabong from the Billabong shop in Australia :) It was a bit hard to find one with the logo across the bum, but I picked it up in Manly just off Manly beach. |
I've got
5 aussie bums 2 speedos 2 arenas 2 caussies 7 turbos I like to cycle through them and keep the drawer fresh so I get rid of old ones as I buy new styles. I'm still a huge fan of turbos. Best all around suit and the best fit. If I go to the beach or pool where there are lots of people I usually wear a turbo being the most modest of suits. My wife's still got a lot of my sons old clothes and suits stashed away. So there's some model of brief style suit from size 2 up too 32 somewhere in my house! |
What is your favorite
Of all the suits you own, which is your favorite. For me, my all time favorite is a really cool Aztec print Speedo that dates back to at least the early 1990's, maybe before. It is really colorful and fits and looks great. My more current favorite is the English Bulldog Turbo, which I love the fit of and I think it is fun to wear.
|
My favorite used to be my original white Speedo Solar which actually had 1" sides and had a much lower percentage of Lycra than the current solars have. I just about wore it out, it lost its bright whiteness, and became stretched out so it was way too big. My current favorite is my Turbo Ipanema water polo brief. I love the cut and the fit, how it makes me look, and the bright colors that really energize me when I'm swimming.

Can I only get turbo online? I would prefer brick and mortar as certain people in this house would flip if they saw me spend over $10 on a swimsuit. |

I ordered mine online from swimoutlet.com. I don't have a swim shop where I live but it's possible that Turbos are available in local swim shops. You'd have to check if you've got one near you. D67 |
I definitely have 100+
Rule is when I see a speedo, I buy a speedo. |
I too have more than topped 100
I travel a lot around the world and I buy a new suit everywhere I go. |
about 60 :D :D

that's why I buy so many too. I love traveling and buying speedos. whats the best place you've gotten a speedo. im from Toronto and going to Montreal or Vancouver is a great place. |
I have 3 speedos, 2 thongs, and 3 jocks as of now, and they are all black (my teenage goth roots are showing!). I tend to wear them out with the activities I enjoy. Total? I'd say I've had around 27 speedos (in almost every color) that i've either destroyed, had ripped off of me by over-enthusiastic lovers and bar patrons and given away.
|
I just purged!!!
I threw out all my old stuff and am down to 5 suits now. 1xHOM, 1xfunky trunks, 1xarena, 2xturbo I still have about 50 pairs of brief undies so I may have to purge there soon too! |
I actually added a line item to my budget called "speedos" to try and get my spending under control :P
|
bar patrons? where do you work?

I currently own 7, and planning to expand by 1 or 2 more by the end of the summer. (College student budgets unfortunately don't allow for mass speedo purchasing!)
|
I'm owning 7 and try to buy at least two more per year... so I'm extending the collection

I have become a Neptune Scepter addict. Got rid of several Seobean and Desmitt briefs and have four Polyester and three Nylon Neptune Scepter suits. i guess I finally found a suit that fit like i wanted and the consistency in their sewing makes me going back for more. i do still have a 1" Speedo I got many years ago, it was different in all aspects as the material was a ribbed nyoln. still is holding up to sun and surf.
|
I have 6 suits:
2-Nike briefs (1 black and 1 blue) 1- Aussiebum WJ 2.5 Loose Portsea 1- Aussiebum WJ 2.5 Loose Freshwater 1-Nike Black/grey squarecut 1-Aussiebum 2.5 Classic in black |
