Do G-strings/thongs really suit men?
Just seems to me that men just don't do well in those types of suits...
https://31.media.tumblr.com/0c0c87c9...qruho1_500.png I would rather see a guy with a nice body in a sexy speedo Any thoughts... |
now this shows a little too much I believe! lol

Agree - such a style can be taken too far (or perhaps I should say not far enough):(
Better coverage and interesting side clasp:http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/or...2ae4c8072a.jpg |
The pictures you have given us are thongs rather then G strings.
The problem of the thong is where to wear it; wear one a beach full of board shorts and you will look like a freak, but on a naturist beach you would look indecisive. A properly made swim thong is however good in the water, it holds one in at the front while allowing the water to flow easily over the rear. So if you have your own pool and sunbathing area a thong might be a suitable option. I know of a quiet beach backed by miles of dunes in France where nudity is prohibited, the guys there wear thongs and G strings. Be aware that wearing a thong or G string in the sunshine for any length of time will result in obvious tan lines that may be commented upon in locker rooms. Wearing a mixture of thongs, bikinis, speedos, square cuts, short shorts and board shorts might result in a series of contoured tan lines. A G string can be uncomfortable to the new user, the elastic tends to slice in on you whilst a thong tends to be a kinder and better fit. As with all things quality counts, well made swim thongs are reasonable comfortable and don't wash away with the first wave. |
Have you tried wearing one?
A properly fitting thong can be really fun. It puts upward pressure in the perineum area just behindthe srotum that can be a really interesting and fun sensation, and unlike anything you can get from a standard swim brief. A nice thong is not really necessarily for wear at a public beach or pool, but rather something you might want to try alone or perhaps with a partner. The whole experience can be quite "sensational!"

I love thongs and G-strings in the late 80's. But there were no place on public beaches in the United States. Eventually the interest fade out after many years passed without them.
|
NJHG, really liked the moody photo of the younger you in a thong, can understand why you loved them.
|
agree
Afew... I completely agree with you. I have never really liked thongs.... a really great, fit looking body in a really well fitted swimsuit works way better for me. It is all preference, I guess. I also think some (key word is some, not many) guys look amazing in board shorts, even though I am saying blasphemy here.

I think this pic looks fabulous. and I'm also a thong fan. but I think you have to be very fit and have a nice butt to look good in them.

I love thongs and especially g-strings in my own pool or yard. When it comes to a suit for beaches or public pools. I too like a nice speedo cut suit. I usually go for the Aussisbum Classic in either black or one of the club stripe sides (though I just got the new Hawaiian print and love it)
There is a time and a place for everything. If you have a real need to be looked at and don't feel anyone will look when in a regular suit -- a thong is the best way to go. Nothing says "look at me" like a hairy ass. |

Thinking back, I saw great body hunks wear thongs, saw strippers strutting their stuffs in g-strings. I wanted to be like them, wear tiny and being sexy. Myself not really know am I looking good in thong. Or at least, until I took photos of myself wearing a thong/g-string, then I could tell. And that was how I started exercising, to make my body looking nice so I could wear these beautiful suits. |
then and now
Do you still have your Flickr blog NJH ?
|
Yes, the photos are fossilizing there! :D

Sorry but it is in puzzle form lol Young and moody eh? |
I think they only look on athletic bodies. Doesn't look good on super muscular people for some reason. But then I wouldn't wear g-strings/things. Not my thing. Don't really have the body for it anyway.

Certainly young and moody ! |
Men's Swim Thong Review
I found this men's swimwear review on You Tube - link below. It starts with board shorts and ends with a minuscule bulge thong, which the guy models. It looks hot to me. I'm thinking about downsizing from my speedo to a swim thong this summer - really like those thong tan lines. Opinions?

CVM on YT a great find - didn't realise how much could be said on the topic.
Blue Gregg swimthong is my choice (with tanline to follow of course). |
another good review

Thongs & G's
With out any question of a doubt, YES! Thongs and G-Strings do suit guys.
I think they look best on men that are in good shape, that's not to say any man shouldn't wear them, but, if your fit and toned, and only wearing a thong or G, the smaller the better...damn...... you've got my attention........... and I'm straight!!!! In my opinion there isn't one picture posted on this site of any swim team member or the like that wouldn't look good sporting a thong......Speedos are great, but I think thongs are sexier. Yes I have a real passion for thongs and speedos. I like to keep as fit as I can, no I'm not in the league of the guys that are pictured on this site, my competitive swim days are over, however I do feel, along with past GF's that I look good in a thong and like my swimwear, the smaller it is the better. Really like the one sided style and the unique tan line it leaves, and from some of the comments I've had from passers by in the London parks where I lay out, so do they. Cheers Paul |

the G string
:p LOL - hard to say (methinks a bare bum has been attacked by a little bit of photo-shopping here)

Thongs and G strings all have their place
I love to use a gstring were when I can. I love the feel of the sun on my buns, and I like the minimal pouch low fronts for may exposure.
This U-Tube shows a great body wearing a nice cut! Take a look and comment https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifDGlPD01Lg |

Actually found the alternatives on that page more interesting (eg some good looking guys on HOM)

The dude in the first pic on this thread looked great in that thong... The problem is not in the garment but often in the design of the garment. Most of the thongs and G-strings I see being sold for men are rather unattractive and wouldn't look much better on a woman (Given the pouch was removed). Mens garments of this type always lack in details. Although being a straight guy I actually find that a good designer thong looks better on a guy than most of the average thongs out there for women. I wish speedo started making them again. Those were quality thongs and they didn't look like they were put together by an amateur... One of these days Ill buy a sewing machine that does zigzag and a sterger and make some of my own designs...

Do they suit men? Not if they have hairs on their bottom! It never ceases to amaze me how much body hair some men have. I never thought it was possible to have hairs there or on the back of your legs until I started using public changing rooms.

The early modern humans were gracile; they were long limbed and slim, their bodies smooth. Their fragile bodies could not adapt to different environments so they adapted other environments to their needs.
Moving North into what is now Europe the early modern humans came in contact with the robust Neanderthals; they were stocky, short limbed, tough and hairy. They had entirely adapted themselves to living in the Ice Age. The early modern humans developed the drill, and were able to put beads on a string while the Neanderthals had to tie their ornaments onto strings. From the drill the early modern humans developed the needle and with the needle they were able to make warm and waterproof boots and clothes. Suited and booted the humans were able to progress further into the frozen North than the Neanderthals in their animal skin ponchos. The humans tamed the wolf into the dog and learned to control the herds rather than hunt them. Cut off from the main food supply the Neanderthals withdrew to smaller, remoter places and became extinct. It has recently been discovered in what is now Portugal that there was cross breeding between Neanderthals and early modern humans producing hybrid strains that survive in human communities to the present day. The traits that modern humans have inherited from the Neanderthals are short limbs, heavy bodies and hairy backs. In tropical regions the early modern humans developed the loin cloth (resembling the modern thong) as the basic level of clothing, so in the modern world those whose features are essentially gracile look good in a thong and those with a touch of the robust may not. ps. The earliest humans in North America used Clovis point spears, suggesting that that had followed the edge of the Atlantic ice shelf in small animal skin boats prior to the Asiatic peoples who arrived on the Ice Bridge. |
For swimwear, I don't think thongs or g strings look good. They are to effeminate. Even as underwear it's a stretch.
Jock straps as underwear though, they are great and look very good on men. I think we should stick with the briefs for swimwear myself. |
Would anyone dare to swim in public in a thong? Can't say I would.
|
I agree; Byron's example in #32 is stunning but on a more average body I'm afraid I'd say "eww." My wife dresses me in a g string occasionally but only for her enjoyment, only in private and I don't think I look that great in it. Maybe if I were around other men wearing them I would but can't imagine when or where that could ever happen!
Something to ponder here, being equally fair to both sexes, what sort of female body is generally considered most attractive in minimal attire? It depends on the observer, huh? |
observer replies....
Curvy - long blond hair - and with three little stringed triangles being worn
