I'm not sure I'd want to wear a suit that's unlined.
|
Great suit!! Where did you get it?
|
The suit is fully lined and with a drawstring. great quality stitching.
|
In that case - sounds promising.
|
You can find the Neptune Scepter suits on Ebay or Amazon. I buy straight from them and pay thru PayPal. They also have a website www.neptunescepter.com
|
I was slightly bemused by a sign at my local pool today encouraging hygiene. 'Shower before you swim, visit the toilet beforehand, don't wear shoes' etc. Then I saw a guy in the pool wearing a t-shirt. Somehow that just didn't fit.
|
Was it the same tee shirt he'd been wearing all day/all week ?
|
Hard to tell.
|
This morning after finishing my night shift I went to a local pool and swam in my new red Arena Saredos briefs. http://www.allensswimwear.co.uk/mens...r-2783045.html
They are lower cut than the Speedo and Maru briefs I usually wear and give a hint of tunnelling at the rear. Being bright red they catch the eye in a way unlike the black and navy briefs and square cuts other men wear at this pool. The PBT/PL mix is less stretchy than Lycra and once wet creates a presentable bulge, while fitting comfortably. This fabric is supposed to resist chlorine and last longer than Lycra so something for everyone in this 2" swim brief. |

website doesn't work! |
try this :http://www.allensswimwear.co.uk/mens...r-2783045.html
the original link worked this morning buy they've changed it |
About 20 people in my local pool today. I was the only one wearing speedos, but there was only me and one other guy actually swimming. Everyone else (kids mostly) just larked about.
If wearing speedos is dependant on swimming many laps - I can accept that. |
Delayed and procrastinated post-hurricane chores.
Cleaned the patio and furniture and pool. Reset the orchids. |
Swam 500m at my local pool in my addidas boxer cut trunks. would have done more but it was crowded. then went for 20 minutes in the steam room. I was the only guy not in boardshorts.
|
Swam 1500m in my red Arena Sarados, getting used to them now, not had any negative comments.
Wonder if I could get away with wearing yellow Arena Santamarias: *http://www.ebay.com/itm/ARENA-COSTUM... 73Hq06Sdkv7Nw Only problem is I'd have to buy them from Italy, although I can get them from the same place through Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Arena-Santa...ias&th=1&psc=1. |

Go on Torchwatch, try lane swimming in yellow santamarinas! You are a UK member and swimming in UK pools, no one will worry or comment (apart from possibly positively) at all. I used to do most of my lane swimming in what I think are Sarados briefs (with the Glasgow Commonwealth Games logo) but now do much of my lane swimming in Neptune Scepter briefs, was doing 1000m yesterday and will be back on Friday morning. Good luck Phil |
Laps
1800 meters every day in 2" Caussie-starting to get more transparent every day-good thing for the front panel, The 100%nylon is great-almost like being bareass, No negative comments as I have worn briefs for years in liberal Vermont!
|
I did the usual 1500 m swim then some pull and kick buoy training. Was wearing the red Arena Sarados swim brief again, feels normal rather than new now but still like the fit and how it looks.
There were three other men in the pool (but lots of women), one was wearing shorts, another was in jammers, the third in square cuts and I was in swim briefs. The women were all in one piece suits, a few with fuller figures had skirts added over the basic one piece design. I suspect that men wishing to swim lengths find it hard to decide what to wear, are put off because shorts are no good for swimming training while jammers look too technical and square cuts and briefs seem too brief compared to shorts they are used to wearing. The result is that they swim in longer shorts a couple of times getting repeatedly overtaken and give up. Tried on a pair of yellow Wet Tackle swim briefs and stepped into the shower to see how they behaved. They rapidly became very see through and although the lined front was transparent it showed the shape of everything in detail. I am now thinking that I should seek a darker shade of yellow when I order the Arena Santamarias. Transparency is not advisable in a public swimming session. I notice that a lot of the Arena Santamarias on sale on Amazon 2 days ago have now gone. have they been ordered by Board readers ? |
Wore my fake light blue Aussibum swim briefs, swam 2000m in them, felt good. Had tested them in the shower at home and knew the went very slightly see through.
Have ordered some genuine Aussibums now and am waiting for delivery. Am off work next week and hope to increase my swim to 2500m. |
Spent a glorious ( yesterday ) day at the beach, relaxing, hiking and flying kites in a metallic red 'Speedo' from Gary Majdell.
Then pool maintenance at home in gold Aussiebum classic. |
Swam today 2000m in my AB Classic 1.5 royal blue. Outdoor 50m pool, and the water not cold at all. It was like being naked, magic of 100% nylon suit :) !
Compared to my turbo suits I wear when I swim with my team, it is much more comfortable ! However I don't know the durability of 100% nylon suits when swimming regularly in chlorinated water  ...I only used it a few times. I will see in the next weeks... Any feedbacks on the question ? |
More transparent
I have about 100 miles on one of my Caussies and they are getting a little "baggy" in the butt and a little less opaque-also navy turning silver! 100% nylon is great!

Woke up feeling rough this morning and not up to early morning lane swimming, so went back to bed. I am on holiday all week so no problem.
Found there was evening adult only lane swimming in another pool in town, haven't been to that pool since before the London Olympics in 2012 when this sports centre was upgraded to become a training camp, they had new running track built and the pool and gyms were improved. Swam 2500m in my light blue fake Aussibum Lycra swim briefs. Was swimming better towards the end than at the beginning of the swim. I was the only swimmer there in briefs, there were a few in square cuts, more in jammers and some in short shorts. Although I was swimming distance I can usually keep up with or overtake swimmers in short or long shorts, especially when I'm doing front crawl. |
Swam 1250m in my light blue fake Aussibums. Concentrating on correct leg kick so taking rests between sets.
Joined the afternoon swimming session, got talking to another speedo swimmer and his wife, they can't find coloured or patterned swim briefs in the local shops and are forced to wear the limited choice of black or navy they can find. I suggested searching on the internet. He admitted owning a swim thong that he only wore in his secluded garden in the summer. We both agreed that as swimming is fun and sensuous you should wear something brief and brightly coloured. |
A 100% nylon suit will out last a lycra or spandex blend suit by years. I have 100% nylon speedos that were hand me downs from my brother that I have had of 15+ years that were used when I got them. The blends tend to break down in two or three years.

Vintage "The Finals"
Have just found some old "The Finals" briefs at the bottom of a drawer. I used to swim and train in these 20+ years ago.
They still fit me, they are black (82% nylon 18% spandex) with one inch sides. The back material is now very thin and a bit "see-through" but the briefs still fit me well so decided to wear them for this morning's lane swim at my local pool. Did my usual 1Km before retiring to, and relaxing, in the sauna and steam-room. It brought back good memories swimming again in these briefs. I usually do my swims now in my Neptune Scepter briefs. |
Swam 1500m in a different pool today. Wore my fake light blue Aussiebums.
I've bought some swim fins, small flippers for use in swimming pools designed to make you use your foot kick action correctly in front crawl. they make you go really fast but it is very tiring to use them. Finished the session doing 250m front crawl without the fins and found my swim style had improved. I was the only male in swim briefs there, a few guys were wearing square cuts, no jammers and a few bad shorts (on slow swimmers). |
Loved "The Finals" suits that were made in the 90s of that thin paper-type of fabric. Speedo, The Finals and a few others made those so-called 'paper suits' with extremely small side seams (under 2").
|
Today a short session of 2200m, alone in my lane, last day of holydays, in my black AB WJ Classic 2.5. Always great feelings with nylon suits ;) . I remember the first times with nylon suits, when I took a look in order to check if my suit stayed in place  ... It was like to swim naked. Now it is more natural to swim with it, but when I swim with my team I wear Turbo suits, all is well maintained, and no drag at all, but less comfortable of course.
|
Recovering from a nasty cold and feeling tired swam a couple of dozen lengths wearing my orange Auussibums.
Taught a lady bilateral breathing when she said she wanted to breathe on both sides in front crawl. She did it well looking graceful and stately. |
Spent a day at the beach in Aussiebum 'Hudson" vintage stripe suit, then home to do pool maintenance.
|
Pool
Do you do your pool maintanace in a speedo also?

Same suit. :) |
Currently sunbathing in the back garden in my blue Aussiebum trunks.
Feel slightly exposed as I am overlooked by the neighbour's upstairs windows, and I can hear they're at home... but I don't mind in reality ;) |

I don't mind being overlooked in reality..! As you say, I was adequately covered and it's no different to being on a beach. Even though I do enjoy some nude sunbathing/swimming, I must admit I love having a speedo tanline  |
Quote:
For sure. I absolutely love to see those tanlines! |
So after biblical rain, the sun has randomly come out to play. Naturally, my blue AB has made an appearance and I'm sat in the garden trying to add to my pathetic tan of 2017!
|
A beach day in royal blue Speedo Solar then home around the pool.
