Postcard at bottom of page one is not dated but I would suspect inter-war.
Here is pic of that same period with the speedos of the time (but changing rooms had their own separate little buildings and the house came with the job for the Lido Manager).

Speedo Friendly!?

I often read about speedo friendliness. Ask yourself are you "speedo friendly? To be a friend of your speedo you have to wear it almost anywhere. Take the pool, beach or backyard. Why shouldn't you wear it around the yard or on your lawn tractor if you want to. At the beach-don't go to a distant more isolated area- find a place in the crowd. Put down your blanket or towel say hi to your neighbors and walk to the water and swim. When you get out engage people near you in conversation-you will start to feel self assured and they will enjoy their speedo guy.At the pool engage the guard in conversation and your lane mates. I guarantee that you soon will feel home with yourself and surroundings and you will be just in your brief suit maybe even with just the beginning of wood-which is not that bad as it leads not only to your increaed confidence but in theirs. Most people like to be around ones that are sure of themselves because that makes them more "daring too" Life's too short to not enjoy your body and it's comfort. You are not the center of the universe after all. Be speedo friendly yourself-just do it. JVT

It was a nice warm summer day and I wanted to wear my new sky blue speedo briefs,feeling nice and snug. I was going swimming , but was told I had to go to the doctor's for a delayed medical examination. I already had my sky blue speedo briefs on,under a pair of Men's European short, shorts. and they fit me very well. I never got to go to the pool,so I took another pair of trousers and boxer shorts with me. I went to the doctor's office, still snug in my sky blue speedo swim briefs and tan colored short, shorts and I felt great in them. I got to the doctor's office, waiting almost a half hour, yet enjoying the feeling of my speedo and shorts. I was getting an erection too. Soon A young male nurse called me into the examination room, disappointing, no lady nurses. He was a nice looking guy and admired how attractive, I was for a guy in his late 30's. He really liked my European shorts, especially how they fit. He said I may have to strip them off with whatever you are wearing underneath. The doctor came in explaining why this was the only time for him to see me. He asked me to turn around,complementing my summer attire. I now had a full hard under my speedo and shorts, it was noticed by him and the male nurse. He said I would have to strip naked, with the help of his nurse. If needed. Soon he had me over taken, as I felt my speedo slowly come off my upper waist. The doctor was also having fun watching my plight. Slowly his male nurse was getting my speedo briefs down as I still wiggled, squirmed and yelping like a little boy "No,no, I want my speedo! don't it off!", to no avail, he had it rolled down below my waist, looking like a bikini, with the dangling draw string, my full hard on,and and behind still encased in sky blue speedo.It was slow going and taking a lot of his energy stripping off my tight swim suit, I stopped wiggling as the doctor now restrained me. I then crossed my legs,feeling his hands firmly peeling the clinging tight nylon off my my fully erect dick. I just let out a cry "Ohhhh" as it was freed from the blue nylon, now standing up at attention. The male nurse then turned me around facing the exam room curtain, bending me over with my behind and balls still encased in blue speedo. he continued pulling my speedo off, getting my behind and balls unsnugged. I now felt the last clinging tight nylon slip out of my crotch, letting out a last cry of resistance. The doctor let me loose as the nurse peeled my tangled sky blue speedo, down my crossed legs, then freeing my ankles and feet from the beautiful blue speedo swim suit. The doctor did my exam and all went well. As I changed into the boxers, my dick went limp,then putting my speedo in the clothes bag. I love my speedo swim suits and want to wear them often. I give them up and off only when I'm ready. This what happened to me wearing my speedo today.

OK - at the risk of a tirade of abuse from another story writer I simply wish to ask have we not heard all this before about erections in speedos in front of medical staff and the great "resistance" at them being taken down ? ( just a rehash of the friend's ankle injury and the annual physical ?)

I'm a relatively new but active member and had visited the board for quite a while before joining, so I feel like I have the right to express my opinion Byron. It would be so much kinder and less provocative if you simply said to Swim Suit Eddie that you don't like very graphic stories with content you've read before. That's your opinion. Why not leave it at that rather than writing a post intending to unfairly provoke STS and insult Swim Suit Eddie. Now that's just my opinion.

I indicated nothing in my question* (no insult - unless re-hash is such in your opinion) about a dislike of very graphic stories - just as I have never used the word liar (IMHO an OTT exclamation which is rather "provocative").

With regard to the other concern about choice of words, perhaps certain words (insult, graphic, etc.) we're not used, but the tone of the post did not strike me as positive. And it you have a point to make about any post, why bring someone else into it by innuendo who has nothing to do with it?

Back to the main topic.... I wore a striped suit for the first time today. I have never felt or looked sexier lol.

It was a beautiful day here in Vermont.....so i loaded up the kayak and went out on the Connecticut River for a couple of hours of leisurely paddling and brilliant summer sun in my favorite Aussiebum...no shorts, just me in my nylon suit, a cooler full of Heady Topper and tanning oil. Got out with a buzz, a burn, and a.....

Sounds like you had a good day. Hopefully no duck itch... I kayak in my speedos too but I'm a ocean kayaker. Ever try to board a flipped ocean kayak in shorts. Impossible! (on the flip side ocean kayaks require no bilge pump so...)

I lived in my Speedo Solar suits over the weekend. Saturday I wore a yellow solar for my yard work. Sunday I wore a navy Solar for the pool.

Saturday I wore a royal blue Sporti to swim laps and today I wore a Turbo Ipanema for laps. Unfortunately I don't have a pool and I live in too residential a neighborhood to just hang around in a speedo. Knikon - way to go in a different suit for the first time.

I have a pool, so I do most of my back yard work in a speedo as it seems a natural extension of having a pool. Rarely do front yard work in one since I live on a busy through street. Usual front yard work attire is gym shorts and shirtless.

Today I painted my house and worked on my tan line. Simultaneously. Wore my Dolphin Splash Racer and not one person driving by stopped to complain about the new color, or my attire.

On a serious note, do you get much traffic (motorist or pedestrian) on your street?
As I noted above, I'm reluctant to do work in front of the house in just a speedo because I live on a busy through street>

I Became a Lobster today (and Im not even truly white to begin with)

I went to the Us Open of Surf Sunday. Stuck with my simple black speedo. It was a fun event and it is going on all week. I only got 2 comments on my swimwear. A group of dudes in speedos said "Speedo Bro's forever" as they passed me and two kids said "that is just wrong dude" and they werent kidding either...

It took me a few minutes before I was even comfortable enough to stand up in it as there was so many people there. I only wish someone had got a pic of me because I probably looked very ridiculous!

I wore my white Kiniki briefs on the beach just north of Calais, France. I had 3 miles of beach and sand dunes almost to myself for a couple of hours except when a couple with a dog walked past, they must have seen me ....

Northern France beaches

Someone asked me about the beach north of Calais, here is my answer if it may help others:

An internet guide told me that the long beach north of Calais was naturist and quite gay.
I have been there several times and found it very quiet each time.
There is a cycle path running the length of this beach giving access to the sand paths to the beach itself.
At the south end is the Centre Jacques Ferry, there is limited parking here, I would approach from here.
There are accessible big gun position bunkers in the dunes here if you like history.
The beach itself is huge with a lighthouse on stilts to the north. As I had a mountainbike loaded with camping gear I stayed close to the Centre Jacques Ferry, but was able to hide in the dunes or be visible as I chose.

On the main beach in Calais, heading south there were loads of square-cuts and many speedos outnumbering those in long shorts on the beach, almost no one with shorts below the knees.

If you want to go naked, or wear something really brief go to Berck sur Mere. You are free to wear whatever you want to there and be appreciated for the effort and effect.

Did I mention that I was swimming with sea lions earlier this week?

Swimming with Sea lions sounds so cool. They are such friendly creatures although I have never gone out of my way to interact with them.

To swim with the sea lions sounds cool. You have to stay clear of marine mammals here in the US or be charged with harassment if seen swimming with them.

I didn't choose to swim with sea lions, they chose to swim with me. They were able to outswim and out-dive me, they could dive behind a wave and surface when and where they wanted to. They appeared intelligent, curious and beautifully adapted to their environment. They could have swum circles around me without me knowing it.

The US Endangered Species Act provides that the people stay away from the endangered mammals . I apologize for any misunderstanding I realize not all countries have the same laws I was going by US law.

I am very aware of the law hence why I haven't attempted to swim or interact with sea lions. They will come up to my kayak tho and on rare occasion try to board it...

I saw on YouTube a couple of surfers interacting with a seal pup in California. Letting it play on their surfboards they claim for over 1 hour. I don't know if they will be fined since the pup came to them but I'm sure they got a lecture concerning the law.

I didn't do anything as cool as swimming with sea lions, just swimming laps sharing a lane for awhile with another homo sapien (lol) in a red Sporti which feels so good gliding through the water.

In the interest of continuing this thread after over a month of no posts, what I did in my speedo today was to swim a full mile for the second time. I wore my Turbo Ipanema ( thanks again to Turbofan and STS for turning me on to Turbos) the same suit I wore for my first mile swim. I think the Ipanema is my motivational suit; whenever I wear it, I feel like I can just keep on swimming.

What did then rest of you do today in your speedos? Anyone else loving Turbos?

I swam in a very cold lake, my Turbo print swimsuit covered by a wet suit in 55 degree water. After, I shed the wetsuit, enjoyed hot coffee and a warm blanket wrapped around my Turbo clad body. A few cups later my parts came back, my bulge grew normal. By then I was off to harvest crop.
