Can't see me ever wearing board shorts. Hard enough doing the lengths when you're getting older, without being dragged down in the water by those garments.

I think the important thing is that you do what makes you feel good and also comfortable. Especially as we get older and when some of us enter the retirement years, we need to take care of ourselves, both physically and mentally. If wearing speedos makes you feel good, do it and don't be concerned with what others say. They are at fault for being rude and insensitive. I wouldn't suggest wearing a thong at a family pool or beach because of the presence of kids, but wear that speedo or bikini and use discretion in which one of your collection you choose.

I'm surprised you were allowed to wear boardshorts to swim lessons, where I am you'd be denied entering the pool to attend swimming lessons.

You'll realise once you've worn a pair of briefs or jammers that it actually is not as bad as you think it is, in fact you'll realise (dare I say this) you were the numpty in the 1st place for not wearing the ideal swimwear.

Yeah I know easier said than done, its why I love the Nike saying "Just do it"
