I have a trip coming up to Koh Samui, Thailand. Everything I am reading is saying that the Thai people are very modest and all swim in full clothing. Is this true?
I found one article stating that Thai men wear very skimpy suits. So which is correct? What should I wear? If they are in fact modest I don't want to insult their culture.

Take speedos/bikinis as underwear and shorts as top wear, view the beach and decide for yourself.
Try walking along the beach a little way out of town and see what happens there.

any beach resort that I have ever stayed at has had every possible swim suit imaginable. However -- some Asian beaches have a rule against thongs or g-strings.

:D LOL - anyone seen a public sign in the orient the opposite of what the French produce for their piscines? (would be fun to see what they created for the artwork if so)
