Tom Daley is staring in a new TV show on ITV1 uk @7-15 pm GMT Saturday.
It is essentially a teach you to dive show and they all seem to wear speedos.
For those of you unfortunate enough to live outside the UK you might try watching it on the ITV Player: https://www.itv.com/itvplayer/#intcmp=NAV_ITVPLAYE

OK - I should add 5th January 2013 and ITV may not be available outside the UK (I have had such problems in trying to forward BBC OnLine).
He's getting to plug it in a few magazine interviews in advance but I don't think we learn anything new (he does say he waxes his chest every four weeks).
Splash is to be like the tv program Strictly Come Dancing - celebrities are to be taught how to dive well and then have to perform and be marked in front of a panel of judges.
One journalist says he's bound to be sniped at for this show but it will certainly get more people out there on the boards of their local swimming pools.
What a load of rubbish - finding any diving platforms would be a miracle these days and the "leisure centres" which get built have kids' paddling pools instead of proper swimming and diving pools !
Btw Tw,the guy surfing on his inflatable croc. is appearing again on tv commercials
for MoneySupermarket.com. I get the impression it is longer than before - could it be the old sequence just extended a bit perhaps ?

The format seems to have come out of an already successful Dutch tv family entertainment show called Celebrity Splash:

Hyped up too much I fear if last night was anything to go by - but better give it another few weeks to improve I guess.
Have to confess my complete ignorance of the "celebrities" performing and only one "speedo" (if that counts for a red bikini with a gold tinsel waistband).

.....last week's joint winner:

(plaster on bridge of Jake Canuso's nose here is the result of going head down to the floor of the dive pool in earlier practice - I guess nobody told him that an immediate kick and twist of the body is required after entry).

For those who can bear it, a video* of trunk-testing:
http://www.itv.com/thismorning/styleandbeauty/trunk-testing/
Jake here assists in presenting as the guy in black shirt and white jeans.
The first tester is an Italian guy wearing the first version of Team GB 2012 Olympic swim brief (confused ? - well, that's how tv fills morning air-time)
*please be patient with two ads. at start

The Aussibum squarecuts should have been deducted points, the white fronted suit used in the "run past" could not be used it the wet test as it went too transparent (a blue fronted suit was substituted), the brief Adidas London 2012 suit would then have won.

Any other source of this video, as this video is only available for viewing within the UK?

:o Sorry about that NJH - forgot it is itv.com so the usual problem arises.
Will check for alternative however (annoying that - the www is not entirely a www when it comes to tv shows).

Sorry - all roads lead to itv.com which means restricted.
The closest I can get is YouTube showing a This Morning episode of two years past, which was a bit pointless, on getting board shorts wet. The one we want is of July 2012 and Google certainly finds it but whether you can progress is another matter. The search words are trunk testing ITV this morning.
PS: A little bit of history: http://motivational-speakers.co.uk/assets/user/images/ltweb.jpg
Leon Taylor is here with a certain promising young lad.
He was an Olympic silver medallist diver at Athens and
is credited with inventing the most difficult competition dive.
Injuries forced him to withdraw from Beijing 2008 however.
The poor guy has suffered various strains plus shoulder and
hernia surgery in his career and is one of the three judges
on Splash now.
To cap it all between appearances on programs 1 and 2 he
has been in hospital for an appendectomy !

Has anyone seen on US tv the show Stars in Danger: The High Dive ?
Also in preparation: Celebrity Splash, with Greg Louganis as a judge
(any advance news?)

At last !......Splash has got itself an Olympic bronze medal boxer to participate - and wearing a nice sexy speedo !
He has turned professional and not surprisingly does part-time male modelling
(makes TD look like quite a tiny guy).
Any pics of Anthony Obogo in speedos eagerly awaited ..............
