Hi Torchwatch and everyone
I stayed in Brooklyn the whole time. Power stayed on all the time.
My home in NJ lost power for two days. Power restored after I came home.
Wind and rain were not actually that high. Inland condition was not bad...
The storm surge did most of the damages. From TV footage, many of the Jersey shore beautiful beaches and shore front houses were destroyed. Make me wonder where will there be money to re-build to how it was like before.

Glad you're OK - strange to see the lights of Brooklyn Bridge staying on throughout it all but most of the boardwalk gone at Atlantic City it seems.

Thanks!
Location location location!
Power outage in lower Manhattan was caused by an explosion of one power plant. Obviously Brooklyn Bridge is using another power sourse.
According the the TV news the damages in Atlantic City was not at much as expected. Damages were moslty at thin strip peninsulas along the Jersey shore and long island shore.
Well, my home is out of power again. I left home and stay in Brooklyn for a couple days. :)

I am glad NJH is safe and all seems well uner the situation. I also hope Long Island Tom is safe and all our friends, guests and members. As hurricanes go Sandy was mostly a cat 1, but as storms go Sandy whipped around a 900 mile reach. This one was the perfect storm... except for those who felt the wrath. Prayers and hugs...

STS has a kind heart!
No doubt Sandy was a huge storm. Caused wide spread damage.
Hope everyone will recover.
