I just have a quick question about monster polo. How do they compare to turbo water polo swimsuits? I can't seem to properly navigate the site so I don't know exactly what the swimsuits are made of and how they fit. Honestly monster polo is one of the worse swimwear company sites, I have seen, in a while but I've heard they are quality suits.

Have to agree - it does seem like a cheapo job by the web designer (and I don't understand why RU is imprinted with CCCP and the hammer and sickle when the USSR broke up twenty years ago).

Monsterpolo has some hot-looking suits - but they are made for the tough game of polo, so their suits have fairly thick fabric and a liner inside for double-protection. I recently purchased their 'California-Republic of Water Polo' suit and just love it. I'm about a 33-34" waist, but bought a 32" suit. It fits me fine, but is also a bit brief (which I like) - the side seams are 2.5", and it is low-rise in front and back. It is a well-made suit - good seams, stitching, etc. That California suit is one you can buy off-the-shelf. But most of their suits are special designs that are made-to-order for various teams, clubs, etc.

its ironic -- the first Monsterpolo suit I got was the CCCP suit. I had been there just before the fall and it was cool to get one of the suits as a reminder. Not really the same these days ---

Me to but mine was a Turbo no a Monsterpolo, it was all white and had CCCP in big red letters on the front and back and Russia was no longer USSR AT THE TIME.
On Turbo s web site I beleave they still have a CCCP suit buit a different one.
Perhaps during the USSR era Russia had waterpolo teamsthus CCCP Oon there suits.

Not a team then Louis but as you mention Turbo their latest w-p suit for Russia is not bad and is appropriate - it has the double headed eagle and the white, red, blue, for the flag.
(LOL - if I was a Dutchman visiting Moscow I might think that someone has
been messing about with my national flag) (the same goes for Italy and Mexico - sometimes they are too close).

hm I got a response to a e-mail I sent them. I was asking about their color collection. unfortunately you need to order a minimum of 5 to get them. I also never found out what they are made of. Swimmboy, what does yours feel like? nylon or nylon blend?

You can buy the California Republic of Water Polo suit individually - but I suspect there is a minimum order if you want personalized colors or patterns. I am not a fabric expert, but inside the suit it says "POLY 53 PBT 47", which I assume refers to the fabric. It feels like nylon to me - the inner lining is plain white and feels like it is the same fabric and thickness as the outside, colorful part of the suit. I suspect the suit would be rather revealing if you remove the liner, if that is the effect you are looking for?

"Confusion reigned and they all got wet"

Maybe a little clarification is needed here:

PS Dave clearly says he once had the Monster red CCCP w-p suit.

Louis says "me too" but I think he means the white Turbo Kremlin suit
with red CCCP lettering and carrying an image of what is probably the Spasskaya Tower - and illustrated here :

Turbo certainly seem to have followed also with an all red w-p suit design for CCCP but this was with yellow lettering and yellow hammer and sickle ( and is I believe on the website http://shop.waterpolocity.co.uk).

The link which says zoom has been rechecked a dozen times and is correct but will not perform.
A smaller illustration is therefore given here (and with my excellent Russian I can of course say that BATE.... means WATERPOLO)

The uptodate Russian Eagle (quite a nice one) is here:

Yes, the suit would feel similar to nylon fabric.
Poly 53 is 53% Polyester.
PBT 47 is 47% of a stronger polyester which is mostly used in electrical insulation but will often appear in kids' swimwear fabrics, with its anti-UV properties, eg.
