I was wondering how water polo would be played in a 50 metre pool but had forgotten that it won't be as the competitions have a dedicated water polo arena of their own (the first such provision for an Olympic Games).
Reading this pic left to right there is:
The Aquatics Centre - with wave roof and two pools.
The ugly side wings to be removed after the Games.
The strange Arcelor Orbit in red-painted steel
(which nobody understands).
The Water Polo Arena with 5000 spectator seats,
warm-up pool - and 37m competition pool.
(to be removed after the Games).
Behind that the Olympic Stadium itself.
(with running track and might be a future football
(soccer) stadium)
